View Full Version : Thoughts on Remanufactured Guns??

I've played paintball a few times now and am thinking of buying a marker. I think I'll play mostly woodball / scenario as that appeals to me. This has led me to look into several M-16 style markers, such as the Recon E5. These tend to run a bit expensive. Anyways, It seems that remanufactured guns are much cheaper (duh). Does anyone have experience with these? Are they really like new? How's the quality with the remanufactured guns? Should I buy a cheaper new gun (BT4 combat anybody?)

Thanks!

well it depends were you get your gun from if you trust the shop that you get it from and if you dont think they will rip you off then go for it i personly think that for woodsball you should get a tippman they are strong and dependible the only thing i dont like about them is there hard to clean and take apart but you can get all kinds of upgrades for them barrels, stocks you can make them look like the "m-16" guns that are already built but you can make the tippy shoot better but you never know if you get something like that and then deside to get in to speedball it is goign to be hard to use a tippman or any long woods ball gun becuase the bunkers are not really that big but its your desition so good luck have fun

^^^Use periods;)
Try to get a used Tippmann on the BST forums. I believe they are better than the guns you listed w/ more upgrades available.

If you are into scenario, tippmann and BT is the way to go.

If you are really hardcore into scenario, look into armotechs. They don't preform better then a tippmann w/ a new barrel, however the milling is based off of real guns, so they look pretty sick.

Get an A-5. They already look tactical enough as is, but you can get as many upgrades as you want for them too. They are also far more durable than what you mentioned.

I like Tippmanns Field Stripping Design... No Chance that youll accidently get your Pull pin stuck on a tree and let your markers guts fall everywhere... I love the Clamshell Design...

I like the tippmann a-5 but its a bit more than I want to spend :( . I mentioned the bt4 cause it looks like a good choice inbetween the 98 custom and an a5. Also is the Recon e5 basically crap? it looks cool and got decent reviews, and I found a place to get remanufactured versions cheap. but then again i don't see many other brands remanufactured so maybe they are POS's.

Ya know... Ive said this once and Ill say it again... If you want Tippmann quality, Get a Real Tippmann... I didnt meen to say that BTs are crap, Ive never used one, but I just think that the Origional is always better... If you think about it, whats better, Origional or Extra Crispy...?

recondtion is another word for used.some time the sell a marker and the kid returns it becuase he did not like it..then the store cant ell it as new so they cut a few bucks off the price and sell it used.the big no-no is the waranty on the used marker.if it less then what it would have been if it was new then dont buy it.most shops like action village will give you full waranty on refubed markers.

periods allow the reader to take a brief pause.... and breath, it is very helpful to breath lol.

Yea, i'd say do it tippmann style yo, i dont have one but they're proably the most talked about gun. They also seem to be the most durable

you could go for the custom or custom pro off the bst forums on here for 80 or 100, then put the cyclone on it for another 60, which will bring it up to 140-160, which isnt to bad for a woodsball gun.
