From what i've been told, the omen 2.0's board is capped at 25bps? Is that correct? I was considering buying one and was curious. I also heard that there is a tboard for the omen. Do you have to use the one designated for the fishy's? I'm on the scenariodreams site and that's all i can find that's somewhat related to evil.

I thought the Omen board was capped a 20 but I am not sure. The Omen T-Board isn't out yet and won't be for a while. Piranah boards are semilar in size and shape to Omen boards but I don't think you would be able to get it to work right.

It is capped at 25. The T-Board is in the works, but Damon from SD has had some snags. We are hoping he has it out by the end of the year. Though honestly, I think that I will stick with my semi only stock board. I brought mine out the other night and the guys standing there all took turns ripping it and it is plenty fast for most people. Unless you play with a bunch of ramping gunners there really isn't much of a need for it.

I see. Though rate of fire is hardly a mission critical objective for me, it's just handy to know what the board's capable of. With my BT4, mechanically, without my RT, because my sear and hammer are worn down, i can 'walk' -so to speak- from 4-11ish bps, says the chrono.

Having the capability to walk freely will be nice.

What weight resistance is the stock microswitch on the 2.0?

Damn Iron, how many markers have you bought/assembled so far this year?

If you find you like the Omen 2.0 it might be worth ading to the BBUC page, as well.

Yeah i think the omen is winning the 'next gun for the 'featured markers' page' poll.

So far in 2006 i have taken three guns under the knife, and in 2005, *thinks* somewhere around ten.

I butcher things.:)

I noticed.

Is the Omen going to become a franken-marker too? or are you going for a semblance of sanity this time around? ;) Because I would kinda like to see what happens to an Omen if it falls into your hands, you certainly don't lack an imagination when it comes to these things.

Well i was considering talking to some college guys (friends of mine who graduated rotc last year) who program motherboards for PC's to see if they could make me a smaller version. I have about $200 to spend extra on technology this time around. If i could get my hands on a board that could process two sets of eyes at once i'm in buisness. One set i'll jimmy up in the cam feed somehow to prevent anything funny from happening in there, in case of mechanical failure, and the other in the breach to prevent the bolt from engaging too early, again in case of mechanical failure.

That is only a theoretical possibility. When i get the gun and study how it works, i might scrap that project.

I might try to go for a different approach to an anti-chop solution. The CAM arms alone are nice, but i'd like something more. I was also considering a super-small sensor button thingy mounted in the ball detent latch so that when a ball is pushed into the breach from the cam arms, it would hit the button, and allow the board to fire the marker. If all else fails, this one i will deffinitely try to do.:)

So rather it be building a new board from scratch, or making a breach sensor, one way or another, i'm going to stumble onto something revolutionary.

They might not be able to help you; the board used in a marker is a very simplistic (and limited in size) design in comparison to a PC motherboard, and you still have the processor and coding to deal with; although if any of them can handle smaller electronics and coding you would be in business.

One set i'll jimmy up in the cam feed somehow to prevent anything funny from happening in there, in case of mechanical failure, and the other in the breach to prevent the bolt from engaging too early, again in case of mechanical failure.

I've thought about this before; I'm pretty sure you could get an eye system in the bottom of the feed tube, although it might have to be a bounce-beam, although a very light switch at the bottom of the tube (where the ball waits) might do the job just as nice.
