Ok, im buying a palmers stabilizer but cannot find out which one I need. I hear the male is the best but I was looking for something that doesn't go on your grip like an expansion chamber. I don't really know what im talking about but i'll try to explain the best I can. On a stock tippmann, the hose runs into the middle of the tippmann or whatever. I've seen pics of tippmanns with the reg in the middle like that and the hose in it. Is this what I get when I buy the male? Is this a better or worse way to do it? And when I get it, what should i set the PSI for? I have no LP kits or anything. 800 right?

also, does anyone know what all I will need to install this stabilizer. I heard that I need new hoses and everything. Can i get these hoses at a local hardware store or are there special ones for paintball?

are tou talking about one that would go directly into the cvx valve? i dont think this is true, but the inline *might* be threaded for that, unless you have an a-5, then it would go there easily. but otherwise youd probably want the female stab. it replaces the asa, the tank screws directly into it.

as for the hoses youd be best to just go to your local paintball shop, i doubt if your hardware store would have hoses rated for the kind of pressures you need. macroline is the eisiest to work with, but if you use co2 you should replace the hoses every so often to be safe. you know, just in case..

Pics of Stab Setups:

While the A5 is high pressure, the 850psi output of preset HPA tanks is much higher than the A5 needs. You should be able to get adequate velocity and reliable cycling at 550-650 psi

that was what your probably thinking of. i believe it will screw directly into the cvx valve on your tippman.

and when you set it, you should screw the veloicity screw all the way out (not completely removed though), start with the stab on a low pressure setting, and rais the pressure (shoot a few shots between adjusting the reg) until it chronos a little higher than the fps you normally shoot, then use the velocity adjuster on your gun to tweak the velocity a bit. that wil give you the best consistancy, but the reg will need to be broken in fully before youll recieve the best performance.

Male goes right into your VA (where your steel hose runs into).

The A-5 is a HP gun. As high as needed to reach the velocity needed. The gun will uncock when you first gas it up with reg on (if you have not increased the reg pressure) because the reg is set at 500PSI when you get it so just turn it up.

The steel hose you WILL need to get from a paintball shop BUT as for the elbow on the tank ASA, I did it the russian way and used some plumbing parts.
