View Full Version : Why?
Why would people still by B.E. products when other compaines are making wayy better products that are cheap. hell you can get a compact spyder for like 90 bucks now. And it is a hell of a lot better than any gun B.E. could make. (including the rainmaker, which buy the way has to have it's valve zip-tied to the body:rolleyes: )
Im not trying to flame but just warning the newbies not to buy B.E. But on the other hand if you are in this site nd predumably have done research, than you should already know better.
Lets either bring B.E. down or fore them to make better products, and stop ripping people off!

Everything you said was your opinion. You don't exactly speak for everyone.
And, I'd love to clear soemthing up here. The "valve" is not zip-tied to the "body". The MAC valve is zip-tied to the RAM on a stock Rainmaker. You can fix this with a MAC mount or, with an aftermarket LP reg, about two feet of LP hose and a screw.
Don't need to fix it, though. It's not going to go anywhere.

$90 for your first marker? That's quite the investment for your average 12-18 year old first time paintballer who doesn't have a job or doesn't have large amounts of disposable income just lying around. I like to look at it this way, brass eagle guns are starter guns to the starter guns. Most kids don't know if paintball is going to be the right sport for them, and rather than dish out $100+ for something they may end up using only once, they get something like a talon or a stingray. Sure it may not be as good as some of the other stuff out there, but to a newbie a paintball gun is a paintball gun. It allows them to get their feet wet in the sport as opposed to buying loads of expensive gear and finding out after your first day of play that paintball isn't right for you.
Recently I hosted a whole bunch of my friends to try woodsball with me. Rather than buying a whole fleet of Spyders or Tippmanns or any other entry level markers, I bought a handful of blades and other BE guns for a fraction of the cost. Most of my friends really liked it and are planning on buying entry level markers of their own. But then again some of them didn't and probably won't be playing paintball again any time soon. Paintball isn't right for everyone, and Brass Eagle allows people to test to see if paintball is right for them for much less than other companies.
So now I have a handful of BE markers lying around my house. They're fun to take apart and tinker with. I can experiment and try new things on them with little or no risk of expenses, as opposed to messing around with a $500+ marker with sensitive electronics and so forth. Lets face it, Brass Eagle markers are cheap and easy to come by. But that's the great thing about BE! It's is designed for the economical paintballer. Not everyone can play speedball every weekend or can own a tricked out electro marker that shoots 13+bps. Some people like to play every once in a while out in their back yards with their marker they bought from Wallmart. As long as they play safe and have fun, I have no problem with it. :)

Well at Wal-mart and places like that BE guns are pretty expensive. Talons are around 30 bucks, stingrays around 70, and Silver Eagle Raptors are 190! Who's gonna spend 80 bucks on a stingray when they can get a spyder sport or compact for that much?

how many new players know what an Angel is? Autococker? Shocker? not much i can tell you that and hardly any of em can let alone dish out $$$$$'s for those kinds of markers. BE is the most well know, it's the easiest to buy (you can find a walmart on every corner), and again they are geared towards the entry level player. One who is not always on the internet looking at paintball sites, or even owns a credit card, one who could care less about what marker he/she has just as long as it is one. There are a lot of reasons why people buy BE products. Magnus has a lot of good points in his comments! go back up and read his post again.
When you ask a teenager what kind of car he or she wants, they pretty much dont care what kind of car they get, a car...any car will do!! maybe when you guys are old enough to drive you can understand that anology.

simple why theyd do it,for 80 you get gun, mask, squeegie, hopper and elbow, and ins oem wal-marts even a 4+1 harness for 80 bucks, for a spyder compact its like what 80 for the gun,4 for the elbow,7 for the hopper,4 for the squeegie,30-70 for the mask, thats 124 or more for the same set up,and useing he triton from vl for 125 at wal-mart here for 125 you ge a standard alumimium blow back semi,9oz tank, bottom line, hopper and elbow, for a spyder compact it is 80 for gun=15 for BL=95=25-30 for tank=115=11 for hopper and elbow=126 close to the same price there, but nto everybody has a pro shop near by to buy from or has a credit card to order from online

yeah,i agree on the raptor considering for 88 you can get an avenger with vert feed
69$ for a PGP online. Takes 12 grams and doesn't need a hopper. Yet it has better range than almost all b.E. guns in that price catagory. A great little gun.

umm bro,no gun has more range then another,i dont give a damn what the bolt or anyhign else is,without angleing the gun 280fps is 280fps and will only let the ball go just so far,the velocity determines the distance
Yah but the talon, saber, blade and stingray can only go a max of like 240-260fps. So therfore a "normal" marker has more range. Plus you can holster a PGP:D
