View Full Version : Eclipse Rushing Things Too Fast?

so i realized, over the past few months, Eclipse has been on the move with releasing many new products.such as tank covers, headbands, ETEK, EGO Origin, etc.do you think there might be a chance that Eclipse's quality will start to dwindle since they are rushing everything out the door so fast? it seems like they aren't spending the time to properly test everything or something like that.cause lets say right now Eclipse is in the process of making the 07 EGO which would most likely be released at the Cup if there is one. That would make it 3 Guns this year(ETEK, Origin, 07 EGO).so if the 07 EGO really did come out, i would imagine it not being the best of quality since this year Eclipse has been pumping out so much stuff that they aren't putting enough effort into their products...well i hope not, i hope Eclipse continues to be the most awesome Brits out there.

well that was my daily thought, possible discussion?

*eclipse forums are like dead so we need something to talk about*

I think after no longer being allowed to make auto cocker parts , and really only having income coming in from their ego05 ( which probably cost alot to initially design and make , i doubt they made a whole lot of money off of the 05 )

They probably decided to push every product they could / possible , to increase profits .. since most money is made on merch like acessories.
Someone buy me a english book pls my spelling sucks.

actually i think the 05 made a very good profit when it was released.people were raging over it and when the 06 was announced, people were going nuts.it was like the most highly anticipated gun to come out.but yeah i see what you're saying, they're trying to expand their market instead of just guns and stuff.cause if you notice on their online shop, they basically are a vendor for other products like Dye and stuff.i think their next project should be a mask.or possibly a barrel kit.now a barrel kit would be so awesome.then wise could finally get his hands on a 2pc Shaft haha

i have noticed alot of their "items" from the places they distribute to are hardly ever in stock of their items .. if they are its like 1 xsmall yellow jersey.

I suspect they may have some long term problems with overflodding the market with Egos and such.

Bob Long has had a ton of markers, very true. What he did was put them into generations, which provided lots of choices, but they weren't marketed as being better than the other at the time. Ex: "Alias is better than a ND" all are equal, companies like Eclipse, WDP and Dye profit off a new marker every year, promoting that somehow this year's is better. Everytime a new Ego or Angel has come out, we are being told that the one before was inferior and this is the one you should buy. I hate that, it degrades the previous product and sometimes consumer confidence is lost. I've never felt that my Timmies were inferior to the others, and Bob's advertising doesn't seem to reflect that. Giving a list of %'s and #'s turns me off, signifing that this one is no better than the one I bought a few months ago.

Sp has had sucess by not coming out with newer models, but more reinventing them and tweaking them every year. WGP has really failed me, I'm pretty disapointed with what they putting out, but I'm not the target anymore for them, kids and new players are. Honestly, due to marketing, I'm turned off by anything new and "improved" from WDP, Dye and PE. The Angel 1 has not impressed me., neither has the ETEk or the DM6/PM6.

Just a few thoughts, argue away.

well have u seen the angel 1 video review by some kid? its actually quite good.i actually have moved the angel 1 up further in the rankings in my book.but i still do not like WDP or the big fat asa it has on their angel 1.i mean it has a blackberry type scrolle rin the grip, an OLED(better than a LCD), and supposedly 10oz lighter than an EGO...but although it may have nice features, i doubt it will have the same performance or better than an EGO.

as for the bob long thing with having alot of different generations or series...Eclipse is kinda doing that right now.you have your ETEK, 06 EGO, Origin EGO, Nexus EGO, SL66, Pevs EGO, Mantis EGO.now you can group the nexus,sl66,pevs,mantis in to the PL cateogry as them having some small advantages over the other.the ETEK is basically just a lower model...but the 06 EGO and Origin are the same exact thing just different annodizing and the star reg and sl66 asa.so i guess you can kinda relate that to bob.

but the only guns that really appeal to me are the egos, dm/pm, and sp guns.dm/pm only because i like the unique looks they put in, but i feel they're prodcuts are cheaply made.i mean have u ever seen the inside of the gun and the wiring, talk about sloppy.sp just makes really good products at a very reasonable price.and egos well...cause they're hte secks and i love brits

I wouldn't classify the Origin Ego as its own thing. All it is, is an 06 with Star parts. Plus having team markers is no new thing. Look at the Shocker.

The ETek was in production for a long time, starting back around when the 06 Ego was created. They just didn't hype or showcase it very much.

The market isn't being flooded by Egos because their MSRP isn't dropping. The Ego is still an $1,000+ marker. There are just more options. Also, there are no significant performance differences between the 06 Ego and even the SL66.

An Ego is an Ego. Planet Eclipse can't really add any revolutionary features which will drastically improve the performance because the performance is already top notch. So what do they do to keep the Ego image fresh? Keep introducing new PL versions, new aftermarket parts, new colors and new milling designs.

I don't think Eclipse's quality will decline, but I will second darktrooper's statement about the overflooding. I recieved my Eclipse tank cover today. It is very durable, thick, padded everywhere you need it. The design is cool, and the cover is tight. It covers everything all the way up to the reg.

everyone has said it. eclipse will keep on pumping out great products at fast rates. kinda like NDz(but w/ guns, parts, and other stuff). the market to me really isnt overflooding with egos. the main ppl that buy egos are ppl that are experienced enough to do atleast cfoa. i will agree with crede about an ego is an ego. the main difference is really just maybe a lighter body, new frame and/or trigger, redisgn of the gun in general. both of my egos perform the same but i just love the 06 look.
