I completely agree with the statement. Children meaning 12 or younger should not play paintball because they would be likely to do something stupid like these ones did.

Now I'm not saying teens shouldnt. Hell I'm 15 and I play. But my lil bros who's 11 would definitely not be able to handle a paintball gun.

My local field has this story. There was a birthday party at the field and these 8-12 year olds were playing (the birthday kid was the son of my church group leader). Right immediately when they got their rentals they started to shoot their parents. wtf? dam right kids under 12 shouldnt be allowed to use paintball guns.

yea, they just dont get the whole saftey issue. and there not mature enuf to handle it.. (espically w/ other kids)
but, a kid that is smart about things and has a dad/brother that plays and teachest them saftey etc.. I have no problem with that.. just as long as there not shootin houses =P

granted.. lots of kids my age just buy guns to shoot houses... Paintballing and havin a paintball gun are 2 SEPERATE things... people should know that :)

Dumb comments...

"I think it caused alarm," Police Chief Kenneth Henderson said. "In this type of (cold) weather, if the paint ball were to hit the skin, it would hurt and leave a red mark.

"You are talking about children whom don't know the consequences of paint-ball guns," he said. "It could even ruin your books and your clothes."

There are barely any consequences of paintball except for the finacial factor.

I have to say i completly agree. if it was my kid and he could handle and be responcible with it then fine but the fact is kids that young just aren't most of the time and so what are we spose to do let them? that hurts our sport even more. so I agree I think kids that young if they can't handle it then they shouldn't.

mork.. can you really expect the police officer to be a pro on paintball knowledge... he just said what he knows, cant blame him for doin his job, but the commend kids dont know the consequences of paintball guns was stated wrong... its almost like he steriotyped paintball players

Through all my experiance and watching young kids (8-13) play with paintball markers, THey don't mix. Just like at the field today as a matter of fact, The kid somehow bought a used Black Dragon. Totaly Deffective, the dude that solded should have been shot and 2 that kid didn't need it. They, me not being mean or anything, just are not mature enough to handle a sport where small sperical objects are hurreled at very high velocities.

my lil sister is 10, and she's the only one with a gun besides me on my neighborhood, and she is safer than me. before a game she puts her barrel plug in as tight as possible, puts the gun on safety, and aims it at the ground. She does this when she is hit or the game is over. She makes sure she doesn't point it at animals, or humans unless its in a game

LMAO, some people need an edjukashun. It always leaves a red mark retard. It wont ruin clothes tho books, MAYBE if it was wide open. Thats why they have covers.

my younger brother just turned 12 on feb 8.he's one of the best paintballers at the field. also one of the safest, he's always yelliung for people to keep their mask on at the chrono and telling people to put in their barrel plugs. he could do some damage w/ his matrix, but he definately knows better. i know reffs who are 12.

i agree with both sides of the conflict. little kids who have no idea what the sport is should not go and play right off the bat. they don't understand alot of the safety issues that go along with it. of course, there are the few. but anyway.... if you have, for example, a pb dad who loves to play, of course he's going to teach them at an early age. but he wouldn't just give him a gun and tell him to go play. the little guy should know how the game is played, why to keep the mask on, and the basic features of his gun. it's all about common sense, which alot of little kids don't have. ( sorry if im sterotyping, but it's hard not to in this case)

I disagree with almost all of you. I play paintball and i am 12 i have two 12 year old friends who play too. We usually play with several 14 year olds ( a lot of kids none older than 14) and we have had NO problems at all. We have played for about 9 months but some have played for years (when they would be like 10) out of all this paintball nothing bad has happened. My Point. Yes some kids our age will do bad things but then yes some 17 and 16 or whatever will do bad things too. There is no reason why 12-13 year olds can't play. Yes parents should supervise younger players like we had adults stay at our few games but now we play by ourselves and we do fine!:goody:WEll i cant say that nothing bad has happened. Here is a example of a person who should of never handled a paintball gun. One kid who is 14 is so afraid of being hit that while he was on the field he ran off i mean way off to like someones house that was near the field he then proceeded to camp by there porch. For half an hour no one at the field even noticed he was gone because he was a annoying little prick.Whos rich parents bought him a Timmy(great gun). While he was waiting at there porch a 10 year old girl walked out the door he heard a noise spun around and fired at least 25 rounds at this girl.Thankfully he stopped firing before he took out a eye. But but not before he shot her at least 10 times at point blanck. and broken several windows as a result the girls parents filed a lawsuit against the field it is closed now. The field owner got in trouble )who by the way is a really nice guy) and this kid got away scot free. I mean wtf is up with that that is what rich parents will do. So in conclusion watch who is playing with u.
ON a brighter side we beat the living hell out of this kid the next day. Man that felt good:pissed:

but this could easily have happened if 17 year olds were playing

so its either this stuff will happen or our sport gets banned
