Just Got a Custom Pro and Have a Question for you All

Ok all, my friend has given me a Tippmann CUSTOM PRO for free:eek: Yea I know its not the best gun in the world but he also gave me a free HPA tank (Pure Energy) and a gravity fed hopper :) . Now all of it is used and stuff but still,it seems to work. Now the tank he gave is a Pure Energy tank. Its the smallest and cheapest one from Pure Energy. I forget the amount of air it holds but i think it can do 500 shots which is fine for me with the tippmann. Now Im most likely going to buy a Ion or Ion pro,is it safe to use that tank on any Ion? I dont know if its low pressure or high pressure :crazy: . Another thing is that when i first got my Custom Pro I dry fired the Shizz out of it. Maybe 100 shots which isent alot but it sort of seems like it. While still shooting it,it started to not recock the bolt. Is that sapose to happen? Does that happen when your out of air? I dident notice any movement on the pressure gauge until the next day. I then pushed that lil pin thing in with my finger to let the rest of the little bit of air out. It now says 0 on the gauge. So my Important question is, is the gun sapose to not uncock itself when im out of air:( ? Thanx in advance to whomever can reply and help me out:)

The tank should work with an ion. And yes the bolt stops recocking when you run out of air. However, you should manually reckock it and fire it until it no longer fires (sometimes some air is left in the gun, but if your gauge says 0 then its probobly all gone).

The tank is high output, otherwise it wouldn't work with your marker at all. It will have no problem working on an Ion, just make sure that the regulator on the Ion is all of the way shut when you first screw the tank in.

The marker will start to have trouble cycling when the gauge on the tank gets into, or drops below, the 600-800psi range. That is the pressure range in which the valve can cycle fully. Any lower than that and there won't be enough blow back pressure to fully recock the bolt.

Dry firing will not hurt the marker, so there is no problem there.

All in all, you got a pretty good deal, that tank's a bit small, but as long as you have a field with all day air, and don't mind filling up...a lot...then you should be good to go. Also look into getting a new hopper, since you're looking at getting an Ion here in the near future, I'd suggest a Halo B or an EggyII.

If you were shooting it, and the bolt did not recock - you may have

1.)Ran out of air
2.)Didn't oil your gun enough
3.)Didn't clean your internals if you have used it before

Sometimes the simplest things can ruin your game.

Ok guys thanx for the replys, im pretty sure that the tank was just getting close to being empty after what you guys had said and to the Moderator who replyed about the hoppers, I was actually thinking about getting a EggyII. 2 of my friends are using them with their Ion Pros and they say they work fine but one of them doesnt like the way the door operates on it. But because of the price and the bps it can deliver im still going to get it:)

If anyone thinks that I should know anything else about the Custom Pro or even the a Ion or Ups, feel free to say what you wanna say.

Oh, you are upgrading to the ion. I love that gun *mumbles bitterly about the debt he's in* . Do you plan on selling the Custom Pro?

Well to tell you the truth I havent even shot a single paintball with it yet:crazy: So im not sure how well it can preform. Like I said though, Im almost most definitly getting a Ion or a Ion Pro so that'll be my toruny or good preformance gun. I might just keep the Tippy for the woods or let friends fool around with it. Why are you interested in buying one?

No, I was just thinking that you could probobly get around $100 dollars for it if you sell it. Then you would be a third of the way to your ion.

Well, if you play a lot of speedball then defenitely go for the Ion. I am not an Ion expert so I'm not sure what the differences are between the normal one and the pro. If you still like woodsball then I would stick with the Custom Pro and just upgrade that. Maybe a Super RT or something. The Eggy II is a good hopper. Not quite as fast as a Halo B but sure is fast enough. (for me anyway)

Yea im going to get the Ion hopfully for a serious tourny gun that I will practice with and stuff but the Tippy will just be for fun and to screw around with. Ill prolly play woodsball with it too:)
