I was wondering how I should go about doing a paint job that would look like silver lighning going across my black 98c.
Here's what I thought might work, but I have no clue what type of paint to use:
1. (Using Sandpaper) Sand lightning like streaks across the gun.
2. (Using a fine brush with silver paint) Fill in the streaks and let it dry.

If you know of a better way please reply of PM me. Also don't forget to tell me what kind of paint to use.
Thanks-

Ok, here's an idea I've had.

First, paint your gun white, silver... the color you want your lightning streaks. Do that nicely. If you don't know how to paint, I'll give you a link.

Now after that's fully dry, take a hot glue gun. And with it, glue onto the receivers your lightning designs.

After that dries for a while, then go about to paint the gun again. But this time, black. When that fully dries, peal off the glue. That should have covered the silver nicely to leave it behind and stick out from the black to resemble lightning.

paint will not come off as you can see i did my 98 awhile ago

good metal primer and a good clear coat

Can anyone tell me how to do a fade? I decided not to do the lightning, because I know how to do the random stripes of paint.

all you have to do on a fade job is decide on what colors you want
and lay one down at a time and fade them in to each other.
i have 7 airbrushes so this helped me alot with this. but i am sure you can do a fade job with a spray can
here is a better picture of my gun the other one showed my barrel being yellow
i hope this post will help the both of you because i was a newbie at one time but no more and it is players helping players that got me to where i am today

:atten: Hey guys,

I agree with kingtime 69, pretty much. His gun is one of the sweetest 98c's I've ever seen. I am a custom painter by trade. I do cars, motorcycles, minitrucks, etc... I've done some flame jobs, kamealeon, fades, etc... on my tippmannn, and now some of my friends guns, and they look so awesome, I am thinking about doing it on the side as a business. I will probably build me a small informational site, and link to it from Ebay. If anyone wants to see some of my work, they can email me at gminorop23@hotmail.com amd I'll send some pics. Even though I have been doing paint jobs for years and years, I am fairly new to the paintball gun scene. But I love to play, and really enjoy painting the markers. I use automotive grade basecoat/clearcoat paint and all the right primers, so these paintjobs will last. And they look like the hood of a car, no fisheyes, or lizard skin paint defect looking disasters like I've seen in the pics from the do it yourselfers. My prices will be really cheap. like 40 to 80 dollar range depending on how intricate you want it. Believe me this is cheap considering the cost of these materials, and my level of expertise. And when people are spending all this cash on these guns, what's 60 bucks to have the hottest looking gun in town? You can email me your designs and Ideas, send me the gun, and I'll give you a guaranteed turnaround time so you can be showing off by the weekend!
Well, this is my idea, if you think it is stupid, tell me, if you want it done, email me. I'm open. Thanks for your time. ;=- -------------#

You guys should put that info in your sigs... Then whenever you post people can read it. Becasue at this moment only the people who read this thread will see what you can do. Also you might want to make a little web page with pics of markers you have painted. Hunting-Pictures (http://www.hunting-pictures.com) is a good place to host your pics. They support paintball pics not just hunting pics cause a lot of guys here have their pictures hosted there.
