Ive bought all my gear off of ebay. It saves money, and rarely will you encounter a bad experience.

Let's see what I've bought of eBay:
5 guns
3 e-loaders
All my clothing
3 harnesses
3 Co2 tanks
8 cases of paint
At least 5 barrels
2 masks
Just about every other upgrade I have
The worst problems were a late delivery and a cheap feedneck that wasn't in the condition described (it's still on my Ion though). In other words, I really haven't had any problems at all. EBay has saved me hundreds, and I will continue to buy from there.

Well, the way to look at ebay is ebay is a market. There's good sellers, bad sellers, and sellers that are there to rip you off. I mostly have good experiences with ebay.
If you're purchasing a new item, make sure the seller has more then one of the same item for sale. This way you can be sure they're not selling their own personal item and claiming it's new even though it's used.
Check their feedback from buyers. Their feedback rating from sellers is basically pretty much useless. You want to be sure that they have satisfied buyers, atleast 10 satisfied buyers with no negatives.
If you're purchasing it NIB from an ebay store or an ebay member who has a store, you will be safe their. If you're purchasing from another member used, check the feedback and you'll be safe.
All in all, ebay is a great place to buy stuff. Great deals too. If you take the time to bid, you'll come away with some very very good deals.

I've been screwed on ebay. I thought I was getting a nib 98c with flatline. Turned out I was getting an old pos.

had one problem out of like 40 paintball purchases on eBay..
go with a reputable seller who has good recent feedback and has all their shipping fees/sale fees posted honestly up front

i've done numerous transactions on ebay(for used pb stuff), but usually items are never as described, its always a little worse(at least for me), so i wouldn't recommend buying used stuff on ebay. but if its brand new and coming from a reputable dealer, then i'd do it. but nowadays I been buying my stuff from my local shop, because its a 100% non-defect and no problems

I have been purchasing and selling off Ebay for about 4 years and i have not had one problem at all. just make sure that you check feedback and always ask questions (does it work, how old, how much wear and tear has it had, why are you selling) anything and everything, just to make sure that you arent gonna get screwed, so if you do this then you shouldnt get screwed.

I've been trading on ebay for a few years now. I've had a couple problems with buying, but never been screwed (Ie stuff came, but later than expected). Selling, though, I've had a lot of problems, but still never screwed (ie, winner of a bid decides not to pay for their item, so I never ship it).
All in all, I'd say that buying from ebay is generally safe as long as you're careful. If it really bothers you that much, though, no problem spending a little extra to get it from a physical store.

should i trust ebay?
no.. absolutly not.
that dosen't mean you can't use Ebay to find some good deals. check peoples feedback and use paypal. never send anyone money directly.
if it sounds to good to be true,, IT IS.

Listen to everyone above. The vast majority has good experiences but now and then there are bad ones. I got ripped once but that was my fault. If I would have read the feedback, I would have known better then bidding on that item. I have also been ripped here too so no place is safe. Now I will not buy or trade with anyone here or on the nation or any other pb board or ebay unless there is some good and no bad feedback. Most people that have 10 or more good feedback take some pride in being a trusted member, so you can usually trust them. Now another word of advise is to make sure they also have feedback as a seller. Make sure the feedback says they shipped fast and product was as described. No matter what, you are risking your money, but 99 chances out of 100 you'll be okay.

i've never had any problems with ebay, as long as you ask questions about everything you think you'll need to know, find out their attitude based on how they respond, and check feedback. Good luck to your friend.

That is the key to eBay. I'd go for it. Haven't had any troubles.
