Barrel for a new guy

OK I am a woodsball player, and I plan on getting a a-5 or something of the like for christmas. I am looking for a barrel and I need the barrel to be of the following.

1.Low Cost (limit is $100)
2.Quiet(er)
3.Great Accuracy
4.Paintballs don't explode in barrel
5.Won't need to change for a few years
6.Simple to install (or decent instructions)

Any ideas are welcome.

If you want to go the expensive but worth it route I would go with the Dye Ultralite barrel, I had one on my A5 you can see my review of it over here:

The Dye Ultralite barrel is light, super accurate, quiet, and looks good.

If you want to go with a lower price, but still very decent barrels I would try the J&J Ceramics or Lapco Bigshot, they are both great accurate barrels and many people reccomend them for the A5. The only thing about the Lapco Bigshot is that it is a tiny bit louder than some barrels.


It sounds like you wouldn't want a flatline because even though it gives you extra range it suffers a little bit on accuracy, it takes some assembly to put it together onto your gun where regular barrels you just screw on easily, and flatlines are not very quiet.

Another question, in your opinion, which is better, J&J performance full tilt ceramic, or the dye ultralite? I see that J&J has a better average and is cheaper.
