it depends: You using CO2 or nitro/HPA? If you're using CO2, you'll need to get a tank with an anti-syphon hose, this will prevent liquid CO2 from getting inside the Reg, which can screw up the o-rings.

I put a PMI pure energy reg on my piranah and it worked fairly well. The PMI reg is about $50 at www.paintballgear.com .

some people may disagree with me on this, but here goes. Before I got the Reg, I had an ACI four-stage expansion chamber on my piranah. I actually think I got better shot-to-shot consistency using CO2 and the X chamber than using Nitro with the PMI reg.
