I was at my local PB feild and the guy behind the counter and I were talking about my gun because I did not know how to take the micro line apart. He said that I did not need to take the regulater apart and lube it inless I started to have problems. Is he right or wrong?

Yes you don't need to mess with it untill it starts giving you trouble

Though for top performance you should clean every month or two

www.zdspb.com has a guide to cleaning it

 It's not something that you have to do after every day of play, but it isn't a bad idea to maintain the regulator at regular intervals. That way you can avoid most problems occurring in the first place.

Here is an easy to follow video of how to break down/lube your Max Flow Reg: http://www.darksidevideo.org/search/nerve/1/27242492-6a78-4607-8fbd-980e014cb9f3.htm.

Of course, if he had counted the number of turns it took to get the adjuster flush with the reg, he would have been able to return the reg to pretty much the same pressure as it was before he disassembled it.
