Ive been paintballing twice and I think it is fantastic. I ordered a JT Excellerator 4.0 on friday and it should be coming soon. I did a lot of research before buying, but I still have a few questions. First of all, what is the asa? Ive heard a lot about putting oil there and not putting oil there. Second of all, what would recommend as a reasonably priced upgrade barrel. Last, i ordered Jt Maxim paintballs on the recommendation of a friend. The bore is .686, and the bore on the stock jt barrel is .68. Do the maxims still work, or did I blow 55 bucks on paintballs that wont work.If I did, what paint would you recommend for the stock barrel. Thanks for your help!!!

Just about any paintballs work fine, but I'd really recommend Diablo Blaze, they're the most accurate any of us 4.0 users have found to work with our gun.

diablo blaze are 90 bucks a case at my local shop... kinda expensive no? i used diablo midnights and they worked fine.no breaks out of 600. a good ceap barrel would be:

--smart parts progressive(im gettin one of these, my frends is real quiet accurate and pretty)
--dye excel
--lapco bigshot

Oh sorry, I order paint off the internet. Even with shipping and MO (Money Order) it's less than $90.

ASA- Air source adapter.. where u screw in your CO2 or N2.. and u want to oil the thread.. NOT PUT THE OIL IN THE HOLE THATS WHERE THE CO2/N2 GOES.. hehe my friend oiled that one part for like 5 weeks of playing which was like 5 times.. he was so stupid... well anyways.. u want to oil almost anything that has threads on it and is easy to get to (Barrel.. ASA and some other stuff) also u want to oil most of the orings.. like on the bolt and stuff like that and the o ring on the barrel.. i think

oil all the orings, and that is all, (i deburred and polished any aluminum male threads, oiling them is a good idea too) just dont put oil into the air source hole.. like some other markers require.. comprende? ;D

Thanks for all your help so far, but I am kind of worried about my choice of paint paint. Will the Maxim's still work on the JT stock barrel? I would like to know before I play this weekend. Thanks!!!

ive only used diablo blaze, just try the maxim paint and see how they work, let us know after you have shot a few thousand rounds of it. so everyone can determine the best paint for jt4 stock barrels.

If you like shooting Blaze, try ordering of actionvillage.com. I get mine for around $55 per case after shipping.

I agree that the Diablo Blaze are a good choice for the 4.0. Another brand that shoots well for me is the PMI Premium. I do not recommend Big Ball unless that's all you can afford, and if you do have to shoot Big Balls you must play with a squeegie in your pocket. Also, Acepaintball.com has good paint prices if you are close to CA.

What's the info on using midnight in the 4.0, cuz I like black shell paint.

I just played with a friend of mine, and he was using a stock 4.0. he didn't have any problems with midnight (which we both used, ~500 each) Action village also has this for about 55 shipped.

I have a Jt Excellerator 4.0 myself...the JT Maxim will fit through your stock barrel...but the paint is a smaller bore and tends to roll through sometimes...it should work well though. You shouldn't get any breaks. The JT maxim fit very well with my JT 2-piece (makes sense that JT stuff work together)...PMI premiums fit really well with the stock barrel and they're usually relatively cheap too! If you have any more questions, feel free to ask!
