Hey. OK here we go. Right now i have a Tippmann 98c and i love it. Its just too long. I know i could get a drop forward and all, but i want to upgrade to like a Cocker or Mag. I love the very lil care a Tippy takes. It also breaks very few balls. I guess what i'm getting at is which takes less time to care for? A Mag or Ccker? I know are both great guns. They're both also in my $300 price range. I play wood and speedball. More of woods though. In the woods i'm more of a sneaky, 1-2 shot per person, and in speedball, well the paint just flies. Which gun would be best at playing both? I kow its the great Mag or Cocker debate. I just was curious as to what otehrs thought.

Well, durability, Mags win hands down. I can chop 15 balls in a row, and that thing will still by cycling fine. Also, very easy to clean thouroughly, and require few adjustments.
Your woods, 1-2 balls thing, Cocker wins out. It is amazing how much more accurate and consistent it is over my mag.
Speedball, My mag can fire a lot faster (RT though). Still the cocker can fire fast, and you won't need a warp feed to prevent chopping. Really depends on front (mag) or back (cocker).

Hey thanks for all the imput. Alot of the ppl i talked to said the Cocker would better match my playing style. I usually am the back player in speedball. And it also great for my woods game. Thanks for the imput and keep it coming.

Well, the cocker takes loving and lots of it. You got quite a few parts in that thing and besides worrying about timing etc, they have atendancy to break seing as how more parts can fail. You need a potato sack full of spare parts if you get one. But they are really nice guns......
I'd go with the mag and a nice barrel....you'll get good accuracy that way too.

Actually, a mag with a nice barrel still won't compare to a cocker with a nice barrel at long distances. A few weeks ago I was bored, and played with my mag in the back. I just kept shooting and shooting and shooting (shooting fast too...), and I just couldn't touch the guy. Only occasionaly would I get close. At the end of the game, I looked at my harness and hopper, and was like, "how the hell did I just shoot 450 balls and only get one guy in one game??"
Oh, and I was using a full freak too.
