Does your field have any especially odd rules?

Some rules posted on my home fields huge safety sign:
1. No shooting animals, except **** hawks.
2. If you can catch a grouse in your hands without shooting it you get 500 free balls.
3. No overshooting-Except Warren

1. Don't shoot cows
2. You can only swear at your bunker.

At Challenge Park Xtreme in Joliet IL you can't shoot at someones head.

I think there's a field in Indy where bounces count as hits too.

That's the coolest rule ever

Maybe I misunderstood you, but why do you think that rules against shooting animals is stupid? They have more of a right to be there than you do... it's their home. A field near me bans you for life if you're caught shooting animals... a very good policy.

I think he just meant that it was a crazy sounding rule. Not that he disagreed with it, but it is downright funny!

Besides, don't take it so personnal. You have just as much right to be there as any animal.

Hardly... if you're in the woods it's their home, not yours. If there were animals coming into your living room to play, you'd probably want them out.

he wasn't against the "dont shoot animals" rule, he found the "except hawks" clause a bit unusual. Dont you?

If I own a section of property I have every right to that property, wooded or not. This is a really weird arguement you are making.
Stay out of the woods man! Those chipmunks are going to kick you out!

And I welcome certain animals into my living room to play, mostly domestic dogs.

We're all animals, here. If those animals are allowed in the woods, why aren't we? Isn't the forest just as much our home as theirs?

MINDofSIN

Yeah, animals have just as much right to be there. The s h i t hawks are a certain type of bird that is really annoying. They're like spiders...always getting oppressed by "whitey"...

AT WAP they have a bunch of phesants running around. I wish they had a 500 ball deal.

Based on that description, I'd have to say they're referring to pigeons.

At one field this guy shot a cow. Then the ref took some kids angel and unloaded on him.

Kinda ironic how our markers were orginally MADE to mark cattle.

head shots dount count as a kill. They dumbest rule ever in my opinion. I'm getting a job at the store he's opening up though so I hope he doesn't read this.:paranoid:

Heads shots don't count thats really weird. Anyways at most fields around here if you pick up something as a shield and it gets hit then your out.

Thats a good rule, but it could have a lot of flaws. "It wasnt a shield, its a portable bunker!" Jay

According to refs I play with: if your carrying it, it's part of your equipment... and equipment hits count.

Ha Ha, weren't you the one who said that people don't belong in the woods?

I just think it is really funny that you said that to LordChaos for asking a perfectly legitimate smart-alec question!

Uhh... no, please read my posts thoroughly before commenting on their content. I said that I thought "no shooting animals" rules were good and that said animals have more of a right to LIVE in the forest than we do to go in and shoot up the place... it's their HOME, they live there, which takes priority over us playing there and at times damaging it. :( At no time did I say that "people don't belong in the woods". Players need to learn to respect for nature and the natural habitats of wild animals. They were there first.

It was a joke... a quote from "Tommy Boy" actually. It was in response to him suggesting mounting wheels on a shield so that it not be considered "equipment" being carried as much as it would be some sort of mobile bunker.

I was being facetious, just as I assumed him to be... notice the little smiley faces in our posts? Get a sense of humour.

i ref at my field, i'm trying to get a new rule instated.

-shoot the ref and get a paint grenade to the head.

would be fun to thrown them at the asses, even if it doesn;t go off it knocks em out cold.

I aint kidding. my friend chucked a grenade, it hit some kid and the kid went down hard.

May be thier home, but they're livin on property owned by the field owner, and he has the right to kick them off in his own way... The stupid little animals can go down to the courthouse and see for thenselves! LoL

I'm not going to argue semantics surrounding arbitrary conditions imposed by humans beings on what some may deem to be lower life forms.

My opinion that paintball players must respect the land they play on - both from a preservation and an ownership perspective - still stands. If you don't respect and preserve the land on which you play, you won't have that land for very long.

spare me... I don't care about you democratic beliefs about the land.. we do respect it, and many animals have a larger populas than us.... besides, we don't like our field having holes all in the ground... next you'll be sayin rat poisining is cruel and we should punish dogs and cats for catching mice and we should turn carnivores into vegitarians... sheesh...

Doesn't anyone find it strange that there are cows on their field?
Actaully they would be good portable bunkers, just strap a cattle prod to your gun and voila!

Yes, I am aware that my statements have made everyone drop a couple a IQ points.

Heres a lame rule. You can act like a ref and run back the flag if you run out of paint.

Anyone who can make it out to the field clearly has a right to play, be they man, woman, or angry grizzly bear.

Alright guys enough flaming over the animal thing. A Wwhopper Im a right-winged republican and I agree, you don't need to go out and shoot animals, you guys that are carying this on just need to relax. The Rule sounds FUNNY because IT SHOULD BE COMMON SENSE, but yet some people don't care.

Though, shooting a Cow is probably entertaining...probably like shooting my brother;) Still, just knock it off guys, let it go.

I agree... thats kinda strange that cows are on the field:D

I doubt they even feel it either, farmers burn their skin (brand) them all the time. And none of us would want that happen to us huh? But we kinda voluntarily take paintball shots on a weekend baseis..... I don't think it would hurt them, but the moral point stands!:peace:

Lol that was alot of seriousness... i'm exhausted
