I just ordered an SL-68 II. I hear it's one of the most durable tippmanns and is very accurate. My question is, a new barrel; the J&J Ceramic 12", is it worth 40 bucks? How about the Tippmann 14" Sniper?
Also, How is the pump action on this gun?
Thanks...

Why didn't you get a Model 98? Or did you want a pump gun?

The stock barrel on the SL is one of the most accurate shooting stock barrels I have ever seen, it may be loud, but its abnoxious and accurate! But, buying a good aftermarket barrel never hurts. The Ceramic is probably going to be a bit mroe quiet and quieter. The AA is also availible for the SL, but is about twice teh price of the Ceramic and jsut about as accurate.
The pump action is nice and smooth BTW
Have fun!

Tippmann is known for 3 things:
customer service
durable guns
and
crap stock barrels.
Now if it's accurate enough for you, stick with it. Maybe telefrag feels that it's accurate since aiming is necessary with a pump.
The pump action is great. It has anti-double feed, and an ok autotrigger. Just odd if your used to a pump arm that springs forward. I've left the pump half-cocked a few times during my playing:|

Heh, yeah, I hoped my sig. would give you the idea I have a custom 98... which I do.
Thanks for the help. I may get the ceramic or the sniper barrel, which I hear is a bit more accurate. Not sure yet, thanks anyway.
By the way... if you polish the stock barrel on the custom 98 it's more accurate and less likely to break balls than a boomstick (unless you polish that too ;).
