I'm thinking of it. Is it worth it. Does it damage your gun to remove it? Do I need a revy even if I have it turned down?

Is it worth it. Depends, how fast can you shoot now? I can't shoot more than 4bps w/o one.
Does it damage your gun to remove it? It will leace a small opening on the right side of your gun. (About the size of a small pea.)
Do I need a revy even if I have it turned down? Not if you don't mind shooting just short bursts. If you want to be shooting at 10bps, then yes, you will.

Its worth it. The only damage left on the gun when you take it off is the hole left on the grip where the valve goes through

I'd say it is worth it too. I reeaallly like mine. I love being able to pull the trigger and let off a ten shot burst in a second.:) It's really nice to be able to out shoot people in fire fights too.

is it of any concern? is it just there, can I cover it up and not worry about it? does it cause any problems?

It won't stop your gun from functioning propoerly, but the hole is just one more place for dirt and debris to get in through. You could probably take a tiny square of sheet metal and glue it over the hole and then paint. Or use some other medium to cover the hole.

I just got a responce trigger and was wondering how to adust it. Becaus when i was shooting it it would do 2-5 shot bursts just by pulling the trigger once.

hmmmmmm...... If I turn it left it opens up the valve.....if I turn it right it closes the valve........I wonder which way turns the ROF up? and + you cant just say "turn it right 2 times for 10 bps" you have to TRY it and figure it out! You cant just turn it to a certain spot and gas up your gun then expect it to be exactly 10bps. YOU have to figure it out by SHOOTING YOUR MARKER

Official NPPL RULES from warpig.com
5.2 MARKERS
5.21. The definition of a trigger is the moveable lever or button that comes in contact with the finger. The contacts of a switch are not a trigger. A trigger pull requires an exertion of force by the finger on the trigger and a release of force by the finger on the trigger during every firing cycle. Markers may fire at any rate of fire, and may shoot any number of paintballs, provided that it fires in semi auto or pump mode only, which means that no more than one paintball is discharged during each firing cycle.

hey, paintballer. way to be tough. the nepl (new england paintball league) has also banned response triggers. i can get the rules out in about 5 minutes if you want to see them. i have played in a rec tourney when it was legal, key word being rec. the reason why it was legal is because it take skill to hold it in a certain spot, compared to an electro in a firing mode you just have to hold down. people attacking this kid is going to say how big of *******s you are. sonic, why to attack him. all you had to say, was in your manual, it says how to adjust you trigger. you may have the rate of fire up too fast or slow. adjust it to where you like the trigger pull. not that hard to do.

Hey, Blimpeyboy, think 'halves' with the rt. Start with the valve screw half way out, then pull the trigger back so that it fires, but not the whole way back- sort of half way. Then try and hold it there to make it keep fireing. Then adjust it from that point to get the rof to your liking. On a side note, dont turn it up more than 2/3rds of the way up or else it chops more balls than a rocky mountain oyster chef. You'll get the hang of it, just keep messing around with it.

heh i'm not doubting the official nppl rules or whatever all im saying is i've seen em used in tournies and rec ball.
sorry but coming from mr. 0.5 g trigger pull (i've done that mod and seen others do so, it's not 0.5 g) i dunno what to believe.

woah, guys. chill. your all getting pissed about a little piece of plastic and metal.
sonic, the tippy seems to have become the favored gun of the n00b, so expect people to be less knowledgeable than you. the whole purpose of this forum is for people with questions to ask them and get useful answers from people with experience.
as far as the rt is concerned, i wouldnt bother. the 98 is designed to be more like a traditional gun than a "toy" paintball marker, so there is not enough back drop to rest against your hand. this means that you must fire it like a normal gun. the rt may be cool, but you can only move your finger so fast with the traditional grip. plus, as far as being tourney legal, who cares. instead of spending a ton of money on a tippy, keep the 98 for rec play and spend the money youd save on a good tourney grade marker. for about $450, i got a stock cocker and upgraded it to be better than the 98 could ever be. the rt is a neat extra to show off to your friends, but a little on the expensive side as far as usefulness is concerned.

hey i was wondering if you could still use the gun semi without taking the whole thing apart
Yes, the RT kit comes with a screw that you can use to disable it. You simply unscrew the RT hose fitting on the powertube and replace it with the screw.. this is all done without taking the gun apart.
