can a phantom use compressed air? It would be using a tank preset to 800-850 psi.

yes, it can use both co2 and HPA.

a HPA tank will be heavy and may unbalance the gun if you don't have a big drop forward though. There isn't any need for it since phantoms run so nicely on CO2.
