Just go with something cheap like a J&J Ceramic, J&J Pro-1, CP 1-piece, LAPCO Bigshot, SP Progressive, or Proto 1-piece. Length = 12-14". You really don't need to spend any more than that for a Tippy barrel.

I kinda want to get something that is really accurate and is somewhat customizeable i was thinking of a freak kit or something like that.

i heard freaks are hard to clean and aren't incredibly accurate. i have an a5 also and i want to get a new barrel too. Ultralites seem really good because they are lighter than boomsticks, but just as accurate. They don't come in kits but you can always buy more backs for them if you ever want to. I am probably going to get an UL back and a stiffi front, since I heard stiffis are really lightweight and accurate, but I want the different bores of the UL. I wouldn't recommend buying it for the price dye and site mfg sell em for, try to get one used, or just a good deal off ebay. You can get the backs for around 45 (I've seen unstandard bore sizes for 30), and stiffi stif-tips for around 60, but they're harder to find.
Spy- I don't think its stupid to buy expensive barrels for your marker even if it isn't very good, because theres adapters for just about everything. And I wouldn't say that if I was you, because your A5 in your sig has a flatline...

barrel kits are useless on a low end gun. now back to the subject lapco is a little loud and costs a little but is one of the most accurate there is.
stay away from dye barrels they are overpriced imo

QFT. Good paint-to-barrel match is what counts. But a J&J would be my suggestion. I wouldn't want to go all out with UL Backs and Stiffi fronts for a Tippy.
Also 06' Progressive and Teardrop are practically the same. And the Dye Titanium Boomstick is overpriced, heavier, and doesn't give you the performance you pay for.

j&js are also very good, i just dont want one because my friend has one and we can switch. i also think barrel kits aren't important for tippmanns... but an awesome barrel is always nice.
flatlines are just about as expensive as uls... and many people have flatlines, so why is it bad to get uls for tippys? i had a flatline once because it came with my a5 and didn't really like it, and i think uls beat out flatlines by a lot.
I also think that if you did go with something even a little worse than one of the best barrels, you would eventually want better if you get a new marker, and end up spending a lot more. even if you decide to get a new marker, you can always keep your awesome barrel and get an adapter to put on the new one. (i personally think I will keep my a5 for life, and since it is so reliable ill probably be able to, but use it for woodsball and scenarios only. If I get extremely serious about paintball and play in speedball tournaments, i wouldn't use an a5, but for now, all i play is woodsball and scenario anyways)
dont tell me that paint to bore match is the only thing that counts, because it isn't. it is very important, but many other things make barrels better. if you try and tell me a tippmann a5's stock barrel is just as good as an UL if you have a perfect paint match, then you are an idiot.
if your willing to pay $150, im assuming you want the best of the best. im only 14, so all i ever spend my money on is lunch money and paintball. (dont tell me i shud start to save up for a car now... cuz thatll never happen) I play paintball almost every day, unlike many people who only play once a week and have angels and timmys, and I like to upgrade my a5. besides, j&js and bigshots and stuff are about $45 bucks right? you can get an UL for about 85. the only difference in price is as much as a cheap box of paint. i dunno about any of you, but i would definitly skip a day at the field to get one of the best barrels for my marker and have it forever. (nevermind the extra money you would save on admission for that one day)

Paint bore match isn't required to make a gun shoot well. It helps, but having a finely honed barrel is what counts. I agree that Dye's boomsticks are overpriced but the UL is priced fairly and is one of the best barrels you can get.

Basically all quality barrels above $30 are "really accurate". The only major difference between a cheap one and expensive one is adjustability with different bore sizes. That's where 2-piece barrels and barrel kits come into play. If you plan of keeping the A-5 for a long time, then it's a good idea to get a kit. Otherwise it isn't worth it.

Adapters weaken the performance of barrels. Unless it is an A-5, using a barrel adapter isn't a good idea. As far as the Flatline, do you think I could buy a $30 version of it? Plus I got a good package deal on it. Otherwise I wouldn't spend $100 on an A-5 barrel.

I have lots of cash to blow too and I like upgrading my a5, so I am going to get an expensive barrel for my a5 as well. I didn't say its a bad thing to use a lot of cash on barrels. just like i sed earlier, the only price difference between a j&j and ul is about a cheap box of paint, and you can get a ul for almost the price of paint and a day at the field. i think its a great idea to not go to the field just one day, get that money, and buy urself an ul which u will have forever.
