I've been out of the pb loop for a while just because it cost so much money and I moved away from all my known good fields but I'm in NC now and saw that Black River is a pretty well known course and decided to look back into it. I pretty much only play speedball...airball and the such and am really looking into the promaster. I hear it has some air sealing issues but if you use the right air setup it will work well. And I'm not too sure what ASA is but people say it doesn't come with one. Also any suggestions on gear would be much appreciated as the game has changed a lot since I left.

i would recomend a rail and a on off asa and a macro line. if u dont already have them i would recomend some pods becuse ur going to go thro alot of paint with the pm. also a force feed loader such as a reloader b or a halo b or maybe a velocioty. i would also recomend a clamping feed neck. the stock barrel really isnt all that bad but if u have some extra money i would surgest getting a barrel to.

Any links for some of this stuff....and also if you have any suggestions on makers of N2 bottles and what sizes...when I got out of it N2 was the new crazy deal so I don't know much about it...and any suggestions on goggles? And I'm assuming Dye is still the leader for barrels?

a crossfire tank is a nice one..make sure to get a carbon fiber tank whichever maker you choose..i have a nitroduck 68 cubic inch/3000psi..i recommend a 68 cubic in carbon fiber..pmi makes a decent tank,as does crossfire, nitroduck,
ive heard good things about guerilla air tanks..i have a guerilla air reg on my nitro duck tank..and air america makes decent tanks too..so you have choices..you may want to opt for a 4500 psi carbon fiber for the fact that you will get more shots per fill..its up to you...as far as barrels..dye makes decent barrels. custom products, empire, smart parts, and other makers make great barrels and barrel kits...dye is known for their ultralight..if you want a barrel kit look into the smart parts freak or the custom products barrel kit..odyssey makes a decent kit too i hear

tanks: Crossfire, Macdev Legionaire, and Guerilla Air are great. I would recommend a 68ci/4500psi tank. however if you want a smaller, lighter tank, try a 45ci/4500psi. either way I definately recommend a 4500psi tank over a 3000psi.
barrels: Dye has quite a bit of competition now. if you want a nice but very overpriced barrel, go with Dye. They still THINK they're the leader in barrels but really dont have anything better than any of the other top barrels on the market. if you want a barrel with the same quality (and oftentimes much lighter than the Ultralight) check out Custom Products (my favorite), Redz, Powerlyte, and Macdev. Many ppl use Smart Parts barrels but i feel they are quite overrated and not up to par with these others.
Goggles: Dye Invision, JT Flex 7 or Proflex, or my favorite, the Vforce Profiler (try one on and you'll see why).
www.paintballgear.com has alot of stuff an good prices for the most part. also check www.shorepaintballsupplies.com and www.bradyspaintball.com

My friend got an Elite Edge barrel kit for his A-5, made by J & J, for $80-90 by making an offer on Ebay. Came with 5 backs, and 12, 14, and 16 inch tips. Very nice shooting kit for the money. The Empire seven piece kit seems to be nice made with gloss black Ano and smooth threads, but I haven't shot more than a handful of balls through one. Do any of the barrel kits have problems with the back milling hitting the low pressure reg on a promaster as it threads into the gun? A prob. I had with a different gun, just had me wondering.

actually I have heard that the newer CP 1-pieces with the larger CP jewel toward the back of the barrel did hit the LPR when it was being screwed in, so ppl had to remove the jewel to use it. worth it IMO.

the ProMaster is a nice gun, but first of all, you will need an ASA setup since it doesnt come with one (on/off recommended). depending on the type of loader you are using (im assuming you're using a Halo B or a Reloader B which have wide feednecks and may fit in the stock feedneck) you may need a clamping feedneck. be sure to turn up the LPR when you first air it up. this will with the HPR break in a little easier, but id recommend getting a newer reg if you have the money. for the barrel, you could get a Dye Ultralite or Boomstick, but since i dunno what your budget is, a cheaper choice would be an Evil Driver or a J&J Ceramic. if you're lookin for a barrel kit...get the Evil Pipe, dont even LOOK for other barrel kits cuz the Pipe is biggest bang for buck for a barrel kit. try to use a low-pressure tank as you get better performance, but if you can, regular HPA will work fine. and if you want, a new grip would be nice cuz the stock grips are a bit bulky. i think thats about all you need, the trigger is very nice, you'll love it. oh btw...except for the screw that hold the trigger frame in place, nearly (notice i said nearly; does not include reg, lpr, and barrel...obviously why would anybody loctite that....?:P) everything that screw on is loctited...so dont be suprised if you cant get some things out (most noticable is the feedneck and trigger adjustment screws)
