1. SS Bigshots are hard to find, so I can't just point you to one. Check eBay every so often. Right now an Autococker threaded SS is there, but no 98s yet.
2. No.

any particular reason? inaccurate unreliable? break easy ? just suck?
synkronics
09-27-2006, 04:27 PM
they suck...badly
i got a wisper before i got my bigshot for my 98 and i hated it...it was worse than the stock barrel
this should be in the barrel forum but i think the mods will be happier with just one thread but anyways
if your looking for a new barrel j&j ceramic and cp 1 piece are great barrels

1 theres a barrel thread? and 2 is the aluminum as good and accurate as the stainless steel or should i forget the whole lapco bigshot one altoghter?

yeah ok the only reason i was a little ancy about was because of the accuracy...now that u have helped me outi have decided to go with tthe aluminum, but the aluminum comes in a hard anodized black or bead blasted finish which confuse me cause i have no idea which is better and im still enw to paintball so forgive all theses questions. btw i was thinkin about getting trilogy pro,but guy at shop said was comlicated internals three way system thing.

I had a teardrop for my spyder, it was pretty bad, about the same as the stock barrel, I just got a big shot for my a5 in today I'll be able to try it soon, I would be willing to bet the big shot is much better than the teardrop...

The Progressive/Teardrop shoots basically the same as all other $50 or less barrels. These include the CP 1-piece, J&J Ceramic/Pro-1, Lapco Bigshot, Proto 1-piece, ACI Zero Gravity, and Dye Excel. The only real differences between all of them are in ways other than accuracy.

ok, here's a question, if i wanna get a freak barrel, do i need an adapter (allows cocker threads(is that what a freak is?) to fit on 98's (hopefully u all know that)) and is a J&J Edge worth getting since it is the same size, yet 4 diff. bore sizes?
synkronics
10-03-2006, 11:58 AM
you can get freak backs in tippmann 98 threads...also adapters suck because it makes the kis useless and adds lenght to the barrel
the J&J edge kit would be fine...i'd prefer that to a freaK

you dont need an aftermarked hammer for a tippmann it will do nothing except take money out of your pocket

1. Swab it.
2. Water.
3. Combination of the two.
Wipe down after and you're set.
