I had to pick some duct tape up at the hardware store for my boss right? And lo and behold they have a sporting goods section in the tiny hole in th wall shop. And there was a single paintball gun on the shelf. Never before fired, 15 years old, still in original packaging, brand spanking new. An original Splatmaster. Store owner had to get rid of it....sold it to me for $30. So now I have an antique paintball gun in mint condition. It's up for bids in the trading forums under Misc equipment if you're interested, and it will be at Time Wars with me this weekend. What do you guys think? Sell it? Keep it? It feels like holding a .44, and the grip is soooo smooth. Wish modern 'guns had grips that felt this good. I'll try and get some pics up sometime.

Keep it... it's an important piece of our sport's history. You're very luck.

If you're going to trade/sell it, don't play with it. Don't even open the box... wait, too late... still, don't even put air in it. Makes for a better collector's item that way. (unless it was used to win the world cup, or in the first game of paintball or something)

I am currently negotiating for some $200 work of custom work....there's lots of Splatmasters still out there, but I'll have a unique custom gun that's one of a kind. Anyone care to make some offers? Check the trade forums for a deal, this isn't the place for it. Anyway, the box came alreday opened so that's not my bad, and the shop goggles it comes with are missing, but the gun has never tasted Co2 or paint.
how the hell could someone have a paintballgun and not use it. Paintball is a sport not a collectors thing. Its like i have an old paintball gun thats never been used wow i am so special now. I mean you could throw it on a shelf and stare at it all day or you could play with it and have a lot of fun. Thats my opinion but its probably best to sell it make some money and buy a better gun.
yeah dont put paint or c02 in it it will ruin the value even though i think the whole thing is dumb paying $200 for something that will sit on a shelf.

splatmasters dont really shoot that good to be played with todays guns. i played with one and it was pitiful. but i would keep it anyway. its like the grandfather of markers. maybe some target shooting but id get a stand for it:laugh:

Holy crap no offense but u sound kinda dumb in that post... Ebonclaw obviously already has a marker and as frontman said the splatmaster probobly would do horrible against modern markers, but its part of the sports history and why would you play with it?
Your lucky for finding something like that Ebon if i were you i would keep it, it will probobly be worth a lot more in 10-20 years and it rocks just having it!
