Hey guys. I have a pair of Urban Camo pants and Im thinking about getting a tactical vest thats Woodland camo and a Urban Camo shirt. The question is...Will I look stupid? I play indoors but If i play outdoors do you think i'll be spotted easily? I have seen videos of people wearing UrbanCamo in a scenario event outside. And does the camo even help you if your playing outside? Or is it just mainly for looks?
Thanks.

If where you play is mainly speedball, then you might stick out a little bit.

As long as you're wearing dark clothing that doesn't reflect too much, you'll be fine. I have a friend who has camo that has leaves and sticks on it. I have better vision than most, but I cannot see anyone mistaking a person for a bunch of branches.

I wear a brown sweater, stay still for the most part, and move carefully and precisely. I think that will help a lot more than any camo.

if you are playing woods games, the camo helps a lot in comparison to say... dye jersies. However, if you are playing speedball, it doesnt matter what you are wearing, you'll get spotted just as easily as anyone else on the field.

I wear camo stuff to speedball games, just because its what I have, and it is comfortable. You shouldn't give a crap what other people think... Thats the best thing about paintball, if you have skills, and someone is making fun of your gun or clothes. If you get them out, you have the last laugh.

IMO, camo doesn't help that much. Sure some leaves will help if you stand perfectly still.
BUt in speedball, yes.

camo helps sometimes. the dark colors conceal more when your waiting to ambush someone. but in standing and kneeling positions not as much as lying down. its how u use the camo. dont think woodland camo is going to hide u sititng next to a tree. its when your IN the tree. the leaves cover you, but the camo just fills in the spaces with the same color.

camo is to help breakup the shape of the human body. its must work somewhat well if every military in the world has or does use it. lol.

I've played a lot of woodsball, and my general experience is that camo works, but solid colors work too as long as you pick the right ones. Pretty much anything on camo, black, brown, dull green, tan, and grey, will make you difficult to spot. Also, a lot of times there's smoke and such, which obscures your vision so only a brightly colored player would be easily visible.

the idea behind cammo is that it breaks up your personal outline. useing cammo with the idea that its will actualy hide you is going to get you tagged out more often than not. a solid colour will help if your standing still or moving just right. ie: dont move into the wind otherwise your shape will counteract with the flow of the trees and such. if your basic paintball skills are down pat, IE: movement, concealment, teamwork and spotting: you can pretty much wear danger orange and run around with out worrying as much.

biggest lesson is that clothes only affect the player as much as the marker. it ALL falls down to whether or not you know what your doing and whats going on all around you.

as for you looking stupid. well thats really up to your parents and what not...

You will need to consider the colors in your playing area. We go from Three Color Desert in the summer to Tiger Stripes during the winter due to the fact that California is brown 7 months out of the year. If you are wearing camo just to wear it pick colors you like and dont worry what other people think.

Well, I wholeheartedly believe that anyone should be able to go to a field and play without getting harrassed or made fun of regardless of what they are wearing. But I also realize that this is not the case.

In all honesty, will you look "stupid" is dependant on the types of players there. Some fields have a whole bunch of people show up every week in camo. Some fields have nothing but jerseys. Some have a bit of both.
I will say that from a general standpoint the ones that show up at my field (primarily speedball) in camo are...fact of the matter...new players. There are a couple half decent regulars that wear camo there, but for the most part, all the serious players (and some wannabes) are in jerseys

in contrast to Ebonclaws post, the field i go to (primarily woodsball) the serious players are there with all shades of cammo and or appropriately shaded civys. and the newbies are usualy running around with jerseys so fresh the hangers are still in them. (most commonly accompanied by a nice brand spanken new Tippmann A5 that was only shot once in the pro-shop...)

whether or not you get ragged on for wearing your cammos is up to the type of play your field supports the most. takeing the tags off and hangers out of your clothes before putting them on helps to...

In the woods you'll do fine with whatever camo you have. If you move over to speedball, people will probably start snickering.

I see how it is, you didn't want to put your own neck on the line so you waited for someone else to say it 1st. :P

it's all good, i don't mind. at least i got quoted by someone :D

To be on topic: If you are playing speedball indoors, then there is no point to wearing Camo. The only time i wore camo indoors was when "AGG" was relly big and everyone just had to wear it. Then i went to Target and bought the camo shirt that says "HA! Now you can't see me!" on the front to make fun of AGG in my own way. I still have the shirt, but i have started wearing my old *** PJ jersey again.

Nah i don't think you would look stupied. Camo is camo it helps you blend in with the environment. Really who really cares about what other people think because I don't.

People woulb probably single you out if you wore the camo on a speedball field, but for woods/scenario it would be fine...

Better cammo on a speedball field then a hot-pink jersy in the woods.

But yea, I get called "teh oldz army dude" on some local fields.
Taste my paint kid...

thats not entirely true either... people wont expect to see a bright pink shirt in the middle of the woods. so if you dont expect it, your not looking for it, you can easily over look it.

also w/ loud colours, they tend to mess with depth perception. so if your wearing bright danger orange or hot pink or dayglow green, standing in a field someones gonna think your closer and compensate. there by undershooting.
