Ok, I have a m98c w/ GTA xchamber, PB drop forward, nyte stikk

It's about 4 months old, and in good condition(come on, the 98c is a tank) Countypaintball.com has 2002 Cockers for 370$

I think it is reasonable for me to say I could get 150$ for my tippy. The gun is like 125 new, xchamber kit is 40, drop is 25, nyte stikk is 40

so like 150-200 is a fair price considering the gun is in good condition (i shot maybe, 2000 rounds, and cleaned it after every use)

Rather then getting a RT trigger, and upgrading the **** out of my tippy even more, should I just get the 2002 Cocker for 370$, sell my tippy for like 150-200$ and reap the benefits of a cocker being just a much better gun then a tippy to start with. I know I'd have to invest another 150$ in the cocker as soon as I got it to make it half decent, but if i plan on playing paintball for at LEAST 2 more years (im 16)

i figure if im gonna spend a small fortune upgrading the tippmann should i not just get a cocker which has alot more potential power

summer will be coming soon and ill be playing like, 3 times a week during the summer...what would you do?

Well, I really want to stay away from electric...I just love the concept behind the cockers. I also like tinkering with things. I am pretty new to paintball, but I think since I am pretty good with my hands that I'd be able to enjoy the cocker. The m98c is a very simple gun, but still I opened it up and cleaned every piece after each use. Cockers are more complicated, but I am willing to learn and I'm competent.

I honestly though, don't know alot about cockers, the parts I'd need to get right away so it shoots well (trigger pull...timing..etc)

I'm in the process of shopping for a car, so the money right now isn't endless. Most of my friends have tippmans or spyders. They of course laugh at me saying getting a cocker is a waste but they are such neat guns (pneumatic ram, COME ON) plus they shoot great...i've played against cockers and they are so accurate

If I got the cocker how much would I be binding myself to it in terms of money if I wanted to keep it working well, with my m98c I clean it, and it works fine, it's a bloody tank, can't hurt that *****

Will I find myself spending a ridiculous amount of money just to keep it shooting, or can I pretty much pace my upgrades?

The way I look at it is, the Cocker is the king of upgradeable guns, why should I spend my money upgrading a m98c that plateau's out performance wise much sooner then a cocker would. Cockers shoot better then a m98c ever will because of how they are built.

Get a cocker. Much better than the tippmann and with a good trigger you can shoot pretty fast.

then get the cocker duh and "tip" u dont have to tinker with a cocker that for those guys who started tinkering and messed up there cockers and now cant stop cause they ruined it so if u see some tinkering on there cocker all the time its not cause they are making it better its cause they f*cked it up i hate when people think the cocker is a tinker gun that really makes me sick SO PEOPLE PLEASE STOP SAYING THAT AND STOP THINKING THAT:pissed: sorry bout that lol

After buying a cocker you don't have to drop $300 worth of upgrades right away. Its performs incredably stock. The only thing I would reccomend is a barrel. The also work well with Co2.

Well....... if you ever play anything like speedball, ya, buy the cocker. If you pretty much only play woods stick with the tippy.

dont forget its not the gun that makes the player but the player that makes the gun
a cocker isnt going to make you a better player
for the money that you will spend on a cocker you can really set up your m98
dont get me wrong, i have a cocker that i love but ive also put over $700 into it
too many new players come into the sport and see people with expensive guns and think that is thre reason they are good but dont realize they have been playing fora lot longer
i just played this past weekend w/ a pump against a bunch of kids w/ high end cockers and electros and i still was taking them out
it is your decision to buy what you want but if you want a car stick w/ the m98 and put some money into that and keep playing
just because you have a m98 doesnt mean you cant eliminate people w/ cockers and angles

i was just giving my opinion
i wasnt trying to discourage him from buying a cocker
in fact im sure he already made the decision to buy one before he even started this discussion
id rather have a car so i can get to the field and play than an expensive gun

I'm aware that the person is more important then the gun, but up only up to a certain point. I'm just looking for a quality gun for a good price, non electro, upgradeable. I like the Cockers but I just wanted to get opinions on what I'm gonna have to do to if I did get one.

as far as upgrades get a new barrel, a new grip frame( not incredibly important but it will crack eventually), and highly recommend hpa and an agitated hopper
if you want to run lp you will need an adjustable reg, a high flow valve, lighter springs and its good to get an adjustable lp reg like the rock

Ok simple

Get a new trigger frame and a motorized hopper. After that you will have lighter pull and be able to shoot fast. You can live with everything else and it will still be an amazing gun. You can buy a new barrel later and what not.

I have

Cocker

kapp beaver tail

Ans extrem reg

Blue WGP venturi bolt

Smart parts AA 12" 14", and 16"

Chrome drop

New trigger frame with lightened pull

HPA tanks 91 cu and 68 cu carbon fiber of course

Kapp trigger shoe blue

3 blue motarized 12v hoppers

All of that gets expensibe but all that you need is the trigger frame and a motarized hopper and your gun is a beast.

Upgrad price.

$65 from my local store for black metal trigger frame with lightened triger pull.

$45 from my local store for basic motarized 12v hoper

total upgrade $110

plus about $325 for 2002 cocker from my local store

so total $435 and that is just an estamit.
