ok so im fairly new at paintball and usually play in the back. im probablly going to get a A-5 and was wondering which barrel is the most acurate and has the most range. i was considering a flatline but have heard the paintballs dont break at long ranges and that the balls break a lot in the barrel.

The reason not to get a range-improving barrel is neither that you have listed. Both reasons you have heard of aren't factual. The real reason is that they aren't as consistently accurate as a standard barrel. Now the Apex/Flatline is only barrel you can get that will improve range, so if you want to live with a little bit reduced accuracy, it would be good for you.

flatlines are pretty cool, I shot one before and you could get people in the mask/gun and it'd still break on them, all the while their paint is dropping to the ground in front of you, and your shooting pass their head.

but if you chop, or have a barrel break, your pretty much screwed for that game.

No barrel will be improve range. Range depends only on your muzzle velocity. Some barrels are quieter (long, heavy ported barrels), some can help with your marker efficiency (depending on your power source and operating pressure), some can be better for paint size what you use, so they can really look be more accurate.

With Apex or Flatline you will have only flat balistics, that is all. With good zeroed red dot you will have same accuracy, range, ball breakage. Key part is the paint, not barrel.

Barrels which use paintball rotation need have better paintballs, they shoot worse with paint what is not round. That is why some people think that they suck.
