When i was reading the Bolt Chrono test in the impulse FAQ (by the way, awesome site), i couldnt help but noticing that ALL aftermarket bolts showed measurable consistency differences from the stock bolt-they were all more consistent, even if they had the same 3-hole design. Could someone tell me why an aftermarket bolt would be more consistent then the stock one? Better machining, maybe? Better design? Or was it just a chance thing, and are they not in fact more consistent? Or lastly, am i just an idiot?

A lot of the consistancy is due to batter machining tolerance, i.e. the bolt fits tighter in the body than the stock bolt.
All the aftermarket bolts are also lighter, this helps in that it takes less effort to move them.
It's not a chance thing :D

Thanks for helping all the impulse owners and will-be impulse owners learn about the marker! by the way, i am anxiously awaiting your reviews on some other impulse products-in particular the premium paintball delrin bolt and some other impulse barrels. oh, and did i mention your site is great?
