1. If I was to sand off the black on my stock barrel (98c) would it start to rust?
2. Does anyone know of a good site that I can get pictures of people shooting 98 Customs or a drawing of some one shooting a 98 custom.

1. Yes, your barrel will rust if you sand off the black, however since it's made of aluminum it won't rust nearly as easily as steel will. I can't tell you how long it will take to rust. The easy way to prevent this is 3 even coats of a quality clear spray paint.

Now I don't need an answer for two anymore because I figured out something else that would work.

Point of order:

Aluminum does not rust. Only Iron and iron products can rust.

Aluminum will develop an oxidized film over its surface if it is left exposed to the air. The shiny surface will slowly turn a dull grey.

Just as Mafia said however, clean it up good, polish, and then apply a good clear coat.
