Ideally paintballs should be used and not stored. But when stored, some paintballs shells become harder to break - other paintballs become more brittle and easier to break.
Scorch Paintballs seem to become more brittle with time, which I like. I use a Ceramic/Teflon and use a Low Pressure ION w/ eyes, so I like brittle paint. What other paintballs become more brittle as it ages?

These Procaps paintballs by Draxxus I was using today seemed pretty brittle but could still shoot through my HP Spyder. I mean hell I've never had a chop due to I've laways used Heat which is pretty hard but this chopped (cleaning it without a squeegee was a :censored: ) when I turned it upside down and started firing.

Any pro-grade paint should be brittle already. Try some DraXxus Inferno.

About the only long-term storage paint that I've seen or used was some of the Draxxus winter paint (Cant remember exact name right now). It was stored for almost a year, and shot really well. The shell quality didnt change much, but it did seem to get a bit harder. Head shots from it actually hurt a little bit.
Ive shot marbalizers that I had for a little over a year, and those things got hard as rocks. Flew great, the shells split when they hit, so they splattered well. BUt OMG those things were actually taking off Skin on bare fleshed shots!

Last year I bought a few boxes of Scorch (by Gameface). Used some of it in the fall, then stored the remaining paint over the winter. In the spring when I used it again, it was super brittle.
You can test the quality of your paint by holding it 6 feet above a slab of concrete and drop the paintball. Then catch it before it bounces twice. Repeat drops until the ball breaks. Brittle paint usually breaks in 3-4 drops. The scorch was breaking in 1-2 drops- loved it!
