My brother just bought a tippmann 98 custom and was looking to buy an e grip online for it, but it said that the gun needed to have the Anti-Chop Technology, my brother doesnt know how hold the gun is or if it has the anti chop technology, so my question is how do you tell if your gun has ACT, and if it doesnt is there any way to upgrade it so it does have the ACT.
Thanks for any help.

No way to upgrade it, but stick ur finger down into the feedneck. Make sure the air is off. Then, push against the bolt when cocked back. Pull trigger, and if the rear bolt moves all the way forward (shoots, but front bolt don't move) and when u let go, ur front bolt goes forward, but the gun is already uncocked, its got ACT. Now it isn't true that u need act for an egrip. I believe the ape rampage works just fine without it.

Link the e-grip that needs act please. I don't believe it/never heard it.

i found e grips online but they say they are for the custom 98 pro...do those e grips still work with the custom 98? what is the difference between the pro and the regular custom 98? is it just the fact that it has ACT?

Depends on the model number. Its running around here somewhere.

ACT guns have nothing to do with the e-grip. Its just a way of identifying more recent models (that are compatible with a e-grip).

okay i beleive this is the serial number, so if this is any use and can tell you something please share the info.
It says: PAT #4,819,609
Im not even sure if that is the serial number but if it is, and if it is useful, share some info with a clueless noob.

EDIT:Also their is another number right above the grip-431605.....the first number i listed is directly to the left of the Warning that is engraved in the gun, so im assuming one of those is the serial number

It's the one over the grip that is the serial number. I've never heard of of a 98 custom needing ACT, but I know he 98 custom is really suposed to have a e-grip, because it is for the custom pro, but it will fit in the 98 custom.
