Are Model 98 RT Triggers Tourny leagal? I read somewhere that they weren't, and if they are legal does that go for all classes or just some?

If I were you I would find out before hand. The rule usually is (as I know it) one trigger pull, one shot.

I hope that it is tourny legal because if it isn't it is a total waste of $$ (if you go in lots of tournaments):pissed: :pissed:
Take out your trigger spring... This shortens your trigger pull by a heck of a lot. I did a couple other things to my trigger and it's like clicking a mouse (sorta).
It depends. Different fields and events have different regulations. To be safe, I wouldn't get it. If you are indeed going to join some tournaments.
If you do get it though, ask the fields first. See if they allow it.
A cheaper alternative is just a double trigger. You can get a very nice ROF, at least 10+bps with it. Since the trigger pull is less than 1-lb. of force required.
Or to a farther extend, the e-bolt. But that's a large chunk of change. And you're probably looking for a more effieicnt on your wallet way.

well i play lots of rec ball with my friends, so it would be really nice for that. some of us are thinking of doing a few tournaments this summer and i was just wondering. but if the field says its illegal it doesnt take that much time to just take it out i suppose
You can't just take it out. You have to take it out, and replace the Powertube as well. For you have custom modifications made to accomidate the RT due to how it's used.

You don't have to replace the power-tude. You should have gotten a small screw that acts like a plug with the mod. You can put that in were the RT connects to the power-tube outside the marker. Just put a little tread lock on it and your good to go. The plug is really small and easy to drop.

get the K&K ring trigger, and take out that spring. that way all u have to do is move the weight of the trigger wich barely requires any force at all. and the ring on the trigger makes it so u can move it forward with out that spring.
i dunno if ring trigs are tourny legal since ive never been in a tourny. hope this helps someone out :)

Are yall aight? YES THE RT IS TOURNEY LEGAL well at most tourney ive been to , THIS ISN'T A FULLAUTO KIT it actually is one shot per pull so it does apply to that rule. All the RT does is push the trigger back forward for you so you still have to pull the trigger to fire. It might be outlawed in some touneys, but not all so always check the rules

whoa methodus, don't contradict yourself too much. rt's have been banned in the nppl and the nepl. NPPL-5.21. The definition of a trigger is the moveable lever or button that comes in contact with the finger. The contacts of a switch are not a trigger. A trigger pull requires an exertion of force by the finger on the trigger and a release of force by the finger on the trigger during every firing cycle. Markers may fire at any rate of fire, and may shoot any number of paintballs, provided that it fires in semi auto or pump mode only, which means that no more than one paintball is discharged during each firing cycle. RT's fire fire more than 1 ball each firing cycle, so they're outlawed. And please try not to contradict yourself as much next time.

RT's fire fire more than 1 ball each firing cycle,
Well, they fire like that on an electronic RT, you know, on the pull and release. But my pneumatic RT only fires one shot per pull. Sure it can fire bursts and auto in a way, but it's not really bursts and auto, it still only fires one shot per pull. When I want it to fire the bursts and auto, I keep the right ammount of pressure on the trigger so that the piston can reset it, but enough pressure so that when the trigger is reset I can triger the sear. So, in actuality, it only fires once per pull. The piston just resets it and the my finger pulls it again. Just, realy fast.

I fail to see where he contradicted himself; however, I do see where your facts are false.

if that were true... that would mean more that one ball would be in the breech at a time...and that would mean paint soup my friend. The ball detent (or "ball latch" in the 98) guards against that.
The RT is NOT full auto One pull one ball...thats the rule and thats what it does. All the RT does is push your finger forward a bit, you must add pressure to pull and also relieve pressure to reset. I feel the Tourny rule about RT's should be rethought. An RT Tippy would be amazingly competitive in tournies if it was allowed in.
