an on/off ASA is what youre looking for... but you need the adapter block to be able to use a standard rail/drop

Couldn't you just use one of those Smart Parts on/off things?

you could, but ive had issues with the valve part getting stuck in the asa and the tank unscrewing from it.... so it makes it useless....
and on/off asa is better for the money

i plan on getting the DOP adapter block, but theres so many different ASA on/off valves. im not trying to spend that much money. and do all of them have the screws on top of it to to mount on the block? sometimes it looks like they dont even have screws to mount on anything.

It depends, do you want a standard ASA or do you want a drop? There are Psychoballistics drops for $35 that come with on/offs, but they still need the adaptor. There are some Lapco and Shocktech drops that DON'T need the adaptor, but I don't think they have an on/off. There are numerous options for on/off ASA's these days.

i think im going to go with the drop forward, im going to compressed air real quick and i dont want that thing lodged agaisnt my body. how does a 68ci with 4500psi sound for an a-5? plus i do alot of proning so would the drop forward mess me up?

That'd be good. You will need an adaptor for all drops on the A-5 except some made by Shocktech and Lapco.
