Hey does anyone know if this idea would work? I really like the idea of a shroud for my tippman but dont want to buy a flatline and dont have the cash for a whole m4/m16 setup..

Basicaly my idea is this.. Buy a carbine shroud, and cut off the ball chamber part to where it meets the shroud. Then, cut the top and bottom of the shroud to match the countour of the top and bottom of the tippman, and allow the shroud's sides to overlap the sides of the tippman a little. I would secure it to the tippman.

Anyone know if this would work in real life as well as it does in my head? is the shroud thick enough to go around the sides of the tippmann? anything i did not consider that would cause a problem with this idea?

Thanks I would like to get as much input as i can before i spend the cash on the shroud

The flatline barrel is curved up, the inside of the carbine shroud would be for a non curved barrel. I dont think it will work, but i am not positive.

Im buying a AR-15 CAR-size forearm from Bushmaster with a handguard cap and delta clip....if you hollow out the inside of the cap and clip and forearm a LITTLE bit with a dremel or a file It will fit right over the barrel, the forearm is $15, the clip is $6.50, and the cap is $2.00. This also give me the rails underneath and above the grips to attach flashlights, foregrips, IR sights, etc. Hey but I love tinkering, so Im always gonna pick the complex way of doing it....plus this things gonna be PERTY!

I saw the cap and clip at bushmaster.com, I think the handguard is $25 dollars there.

The handguards are two peices and you use the delt clip to attach them to the barrel, it connects to the part closest to the frame, and the cap connects to the front side. Ill draw up detailed plans or sell it as a kit when I finish mine, I wont have the cash fpor about 4 weeks then a week to ship then 3-4 days to build it.....It might be a little while.....I NEED A DECENT JOB!
