Pretty hot IMO. I expect it to be lighter than the 06 remain. So probally a little less than 2 pounds w/Asa,battery,barrel, and reg.
That's the new Alien marker, the Independence. Alien is clearly trying to make markers that look as good as they shoot, which the Interceptor and Remains definately do not accomplish in most peoples' eyes. The internals are the same, which is a good thing, although it has more volume and better flow for lower pressure and better consistency.
It addresses most of the major complaints of previous Alien markers:
-The bushy/impulse feedneck threads are no more, replaced by a fully integrated feedneck that is milled into the body. Aftermarker feedneck collars can give it lever-lock functionality if you like that.
-The old, difficult to adjust, "double" style trigger is gone, replaced by an externally-adjustable Critical brand trigger, apparently raze style.
-The It looks like it uses rubber grips instead of aluminum panels, I'm not sure about that one.
-and obviously, the looks.

Indeed, it does look delicious. If i had to guess, it'll probably be around the price of the '06 Remains when it was released.

I'm buying one
Its not the new Remains, fyi. Its the Independence.
Trigger is Critical, both '07 Guns will come with Critical Dual bearing triggers.
Took me 4 years to get the internals right -seals, hoses, etc. - basic concept of ram, valve and bolt are the same as the prototypes. Not changing internals, except for more air storage in the body and easier air flow.
...
That's not my barrel, designer just threw it on there.
...
This is Independence, Remains looks remain the same - basically

It's just a CAD rendering of the design so there's no asa or reg. The barrel isn't even it's barrel it's just what the CAD ppl put on it. But yeah it should either have a CP reg or maybe an alien one if Jack makes one for it. Anyone think the inde can give the mini a challenge in the weight department? The remains is only a little more then 1oz. heavier then the mini and this looks to even lighter then the remains.

The 06 remains is an oz heavier w/o asa
So it isn't only one oz.

Yeah i know i was just comparing as they out of the box. W/ a shocktech asa and rail i think it's like 2.4 lbs or something. What's the lightest on/off asa anyone know?

A duckbill. Lightest rail setup may be a Hybrid offering.

From the PBN Alien forum...
Yes, the Independence is the new top of the line. The new looks of the highly stylized body will take more machine time to make and so will cost more but, most likely, will be under $1,000, looks to be $975 It has larger air chambers than the Remains and should improve on the 1,500 - 1,600 shots on a hot 68/45. New is the Critical trigger and it keeps the WAS Electronics and, as all Aliens do, features the Independent Ram, the Sweep Bolt and Valve. It will weight just a little more than the '07 Remains - style is not without a cost. It will be hard to tell the difference in weight when holding the '06 Remains and the Independence.
The '07 Remains will weigh a little, very little, less than the '06 and will have the Critical trigger. It also has smaller eye covers. Other than that it will keep the WAS Electronics, Independent Ram, Sweep Bolt and Valve. It looks to be $795.
We are still about 6 weeks from delivery.
