I'm taking my Impy to the field this weekend ... brand new Rat, i've only fired two hoppers through it at the house ... anyway. FOM did an excellent job of setting everything up. Just wondering, do you think the dwell will need adjusting when I chrono, or should the FOM setting still be in place?
Also, kinda noobish, but I'm new to the impy ... the instruction manual wasn't clear on this point, is the dwell inside the grip?

I would re-adjust the dwell when you do chrono for the first time, just to make sure you are getting the best air efficiency you can get.
YOu can find the dwell pot if you open up the rubber guard right above the trigger. A little dwell adjustment goes a long way !

Just got back from the field, first day using my RAT ... EXCELLENT day.
Gotta few questions though:
Inlet pressure started the day with the inlet pressure at 150 psi ... after the first game it jump to 200 psi ... then if fell to 100 psi. Every time i readjusted the reg to bring it back to 150, i'd fire about five or six rounds after each adjustment. Anyway, the inlet pressure never stayed at 150 ... should it jump around like that?
Chrono what is the best way to set the velocity, dwell adjustments or reg adjustments? I've heard both and the Smart Parts manual isn't much help in the matter.

Being a new gun it will take about a case or 2 to break in the reg.
After 2 cases, clean and lube the max-flow.
Use the Dwell as a course adjustment and the operating pressure as a fine tune. Once you initially set the dwell, you should not have to change it again.

i find that happening with mine too. if u are using co2, it sounds normal cuz i realized when the tank gets refilled, the reg reading changes. dont worry about it too much, im gettin nitro soon.
