hey that's pretty cool but i dont think that should be called a totally different marker looks like it's just a a-5 with a lil bit of milling and some aftermarket upgrades.

looks sweet i like how tippmann is making newer guns now. irs made out of magnesum so it should be prety light and it looks a bit diffrent than an a-5 and it seems longer, better looking hopper, and the trigger and safety is diffrent... take a look at the pic in the corner too... a specops logo!

It weighs 4.1 lbs unloaded... The A5 weights 3.5 lbs unloaded, which means it prolly isn't made outta magnesium, and if it were, wouldn't it catch fire if a flame is put to it? Seem to remember magnesium ribbon burning particularly bright when heated.......

Depends on its chemical composition. I doubt it will catch fire unless under... different condition.
I think only part of it is made of magnesium.
BTW, any of you guys seen the new Smart Parts gun out?

It won't burn. It's made of magnesium ALLOY, meaning there's other metals in it. Plus, say it was made of pure elemental magnesium, even then it wouldn't readily burn, as a magnesium ribbon is much smaller and thinner. The gun, if it were made of 100% magnesium, would be too thick and massive to readily catch fire, it's all about surface area. Now, if you were to grind it up into dust and put a match to it, yes it would catch, but that's assuming it was pure magnesium, which it's not, so you need not worry.
I sorta like the new X-7. I may even buy one in the future. (probably for my girlfriend) Sure the price is a little steep, but you get what you pay for. I, like many of you, am also curious about this "Enhanced Performance" Cyclone Feed. The smaller, slimmer size is a nice addition. The military-inspired safety selector switch is a nice touch as well. This was a rather great move by Tippmann, as it will help them corner the market in their area of expertise, and further strengthen their already highly profitable presence in the industry. And like I've heard mentioned before, they will also cash in big-time on the aftermarket milsim market they've been missing out on for so long. It may not be much of a change in design/function, but honestly, who cares? Tippmann isn't a speedball company. Besides, why fix something if it isn't broken? They are just going with what they know, and reinforcing proven designs and strategies.
That is all.

LOL. My A-5 weighs about 8 lbs. unloaded and 9 lbs. loaded. Yay for a pound of paint!
(NOTE: Yes I actually weighed it, but it's not exact, I know. I weighed by difference on my bathroom scale. I should weigh it sometime with a fish scale or something. The total weight of my paintball gear I normally wear is approximately 35 lbs. Weight really doesn't bother me at all.)

is not smaller than the A-5, the x-7 is a little far, making it seen smaller (pure physics) plus i think is the same gun just the external is different.

Good to know that this won't actually "replace" the A-5.... But it's not a gun that I would concider on getting though...don't really know why exactly but it doesn't seem to fit for me. Anyone in concideration of getting it?

lol. Your like the exact opposite of me. I can't stand anything heavy.I run around a lot while playing, can't seem to stay still in one place...too much tension I guess lol. I even took off my hopper and added a offset hopper adaptor and a A5 Tac Cap, it can hold about 100 balls. Sure less paint in the tank but I rather that then a heavy marker.

Yes sir. Magnificent move by Smart Parts.
Smart Parts are the Microsoft of Paintball... only less intentional faults in their products... a lot less.

LOL. Same here. Believe it or not, I actually move around quite a bit, and am surprisingly fast despite the fact that I weigh somewhere around ~250 lbs in full gear. I can move. I mean, like REALLY HAUL ARSE, lmao. In fact, I think I'm gonna play front next time I play speedball, lol. Just for kicks and giggles. ;) Just for you... I play the snake rather nicely... scared the hell outta the tourney playaz. Most people don't expect a guy in full camo, loaded down with around forty pounds of gear, a scenario marker, who is a large guy to begin with to kick so much tail. All they see is "noob". Haha... I love pwning people when they least expect it.
