info:
At DYE, we've continuously taken the extra steps to improve upon perfection. In creating the DM7, we turned to our development team of engineers, designers, and professional athletes to achieve this task. Once again, they did not disappoint. The DM7 is everything you want the best paintball marker in the world to be: small, light, fast, accurate and reliable. The DM7 is shorter and lighter than its predecessors, giving you more control to take your game to the next level. To achieve the new smaller size and weight, we've completely rebuilt the LPR into a smaller package. The LPR and custom-built solenoid work in harmony with the Fuse™ bolt design to allow the marker to operate at an astounding 145 psi. The DM7 also features a new Lever Locking Feed Neck, revamped self-cleaning eye system with new eye wires, and all new 3D body styling. All of these innovations, coupled with standard features like the Ultralite frame and two-piece barrel, give perfection a new meaning.
DYE DM7 Paintball Guns feature
Ultralite Barrel - accuracy at its finest, the standard Ultralite™ 14-inch barrel
On/Off - the DM7's integrated on/off air supply allows you to de-gas your marker at any time. Also includes the Airport On/Off that is perfectly balanced for an easy twist
Hyper2™ regulator - consistent air flow through the Hyper2™ in-line air regulator
Low pressure - the low 145 psi operating pressure provides smooth operating performance with less shot bounce
Self-cleaning eyes - the DM7 features an all-new, internal anti-chop eye sensing system that is self cleaning, providing trouble-free high rates of fire
UL grip frame - the DM7 is the proud owner of the world's lightest, most compact and comfortable 45 grip frame available. The new hour-glass design allows for a sleeker profile, while heads-up display lights alert you to the status of your gun, without having to take your eyes off the game
Logo - cast aluminum inset DYE logo
Legal software - PSP and NPPL tournament legal software
Roller-bearing trigger - completely adjustable trigger design allows you to customize your trigger position and refraction point. Trigger roller bearing inserts give the trigger stability and a smooth swing return
Ultra-lightweight - the DM7 is shorter with a more compact body. The weight has also been reduced
Ultralite Sticky3 grip™ - Ultralite Sticky3™ grip is standard and provides an anatomically correct fit to your hand. It is co-molded with a tacky rubber grip and hard plastic under-frame
LED control - high-intensity LED provides identification to program functions
Metal power buttons - our metal/rubber button pad features large buttons that can easily be used while wearing gloves. Stainless steel buttons are guaranteed not to fail
Improved Fuse™ bolt - the improved, removable one-piece Fuse™ bolt system operates at 145psi, has greater air flow and is more efficient
Internal LPR - the modular internal LPR is smaller and provides more efficient shot consistency and quality
Cam Lock feed neck - low-profile locking feed port with adjustable cam lock neck allows you to use your choice of hopper and secure it firmly to the DM7

So... uhh... how is this really different then the Dm6 again? Yawn. Nobody is really blowing my mind this year except for Bob Long and his Onyx and Macdev and the 07 Cyborg. Everybody else is rehashing their old designs and making them operate at a bit lower pressure. Maybe if Dye made a Hyper 3 reg I would be happy.

I'm not sure how folks quantify the differences between the DM6 and 7; as an adult, I do it by comparing what I have read about the 7 to what I know about my 6. For example, it appears that the differences in the 7 are that it is 1) lighter, 2) has a different trigger placement, 3) has a one-piece bolt, 4) is purported to have a more efficient LP regulator and 5) supposedly has a new eye system.

When a non-poser (someone who is concerned more about function than form) looks at these differences realistically, he would be hard pressed to argue that lighter is not better. It is also hard to argue that a simpler one-piece bolt would not be a welcome improvement over the multi-piece, mult-o-ring bolt in my DM 6. Sticking or leaking bolt parts or o-rings have been my major complaint about the DM6. It would also be nice to have efficiency improvements, as my DM6 is a known air-hog (as were its predecessors). Finally, from my experience with my DM6, I would like the trigger itself to be a little farther back (which it appears that the 7 is).

So, to say that the DM7 looks the same is fine (I don't want to pose with my "new gun"). To say that they have kept the better improvements made over the DM5 is reasonable too; why would they change the things that worked? But, while the jury is still out on how the DM7 improvements will actually rectify problems with the DM6, to say that the DM7 is the same as the DM6 does not appear to be based on any real experience with the markers or any real investigation or forethought.

They basically improved upon the relatively succesful 06. The body work is about the same, but IMO the looks kill. They took the input from top players and made, what some would argue minor, changes that will affect performance and feel.
