Then that guys an idiot. It won't hurt the gun at all, you may not get great consistancy, but if you bought the gun in the last 6 months, you should be fine.

because the early versions of the stock reg, could not handle pre-set tanks well, you do have a secondary reg,it's on your marker
the guy probbly thought it was a gas through or somthing

Everyone is correct on this one.. The bushmasters unless it is a recent gen 5 or 6. the stock MAIN reg cannnot handle more then 500 to 600 psi input MAX without ruining it. ICD has an available kit to rebuild your older reg to that of a new one!!!!

Wrong.
It can handle it just fine, your effciency and consistancy wont be as good though.
Theres nothing wrong with running a preset, just slap your tank on and play.

Glad to see someone trust what ICD says directly... (sarcasm of course) as me being me and working on bushmasters for a while i've seen what running over 600 psi does to the reg... you'll be buyying that update sooner or later and rebuilding that reg anyways... any air system, if you feed a bushy 400 - 450 it'll be a happy bushy..
Read the Bushmaster manual. it will state (unless it's a 5th or 6th gen) to use a secondary regulated air system (better performance and safety)

you CAN but its not good for it and it probably wont last long . . . i would suggest getting a new reg, or if you dont have the money for a new reg just get the rebuild kit from ICD its like $10 or sumthin and you will be able to use your preset with out worries.

Nope just a few parts, and it comes with a diagram showing how they go and such. it's simple takes about 5-10 minutes...
