I called crossfire today to order my new tank, and they said they just started making their own tanks. The guy said they had blue, black, or camo in stock and that camo was his favorite.. I didn't really know what to say so I just said camo (I don't really care THAT much because I'm covering it anyways). Has anyone seen these tanks? They aren't on their website yet, and I can't find pictures of them on google or anything. Are they any different from the other tanks, or just the color thing?

The wrapping is colored?
That's interesting, get pics.

I looked everywhere for em... they said they just introduced them, and there aren't pics yet on their website (or anywhere else). I'm not exactly sure what part is colored, but ya I think its the wrapping. Once mine comes in the mail, I'll try and get a picture up. (it wont be here until like saturday or monday because of thanksgiving)

I doubt they make the tanks, I'm guessing they just take Catalina tanks (or whoever they supply from now) and resurface them, like you can get them to do when they are hydrotesting your tank.

The reg is probalbly colored.
My best bet is that red is high pressured tanks, blue is low pressured tanks and camo is ajustible.

If that were the case, he should have asked what pressure was needed instead of just giving the customer (original poster) a color option. Also, adjustable tanks are usually more expensive so that would have also been mentioned.
I'm guessing it's the wrapping. I guess a colored tank is cool but most people do cover them anyway.

Not to mention that Crossfire have always colour coded the output pressure of their 4500psi regulators and have never made adjustable air systems.

I'm guessing this is due to their inability to procure the carbon fiber from outside vendors due to it being in high demand for military applications with the current war on terror going on.

This is making me think of those tanks from a year or two ago that had the anime scenes/people on them. maybe the way it is colored is along those lines.

Excessive animated smileys may agitate him also. Just fyi.
Crossfire would've done better to include a tank cover instead of concerning themselves over the look of the tank itself.

I agree with that because most people cover their tanks anyway to protect them. i've rarely seen uncovered tanks in play i worry about my tanks when they are uncovered even in my house

I think in this context I can let it pass, but those people who use excessive smileys just for the hell of it..... :pissed:
"Smiley War" - another thing that should not be mentioned again..... Let's just say that both Smiley armies lost and I won! :dodgy:

Ya its not the reg, they asked me high or low pressure before. I think the colored ones might cost more, but he said I could have it for free since i
"wasn't a hassle at all like other people" and because theyr so new. So I said sure why not.. I wish they had pics posted on their website... I'm not a patient person :P

I would not really care about the color of the wrap, I cover my tanks so it dosent really matter to me. But thats me.People see the pros with out tanks covers so every dosent use tank covers.(I think the pro's don't put the tank covers on them because of sponsorship, but im not sure)Well, im looking foward to some pics, I have an old crossy 68/45 which needs a new reg.

I saw auctions on eBay a few weeks ago of colored cylinders (68/30 fiber). They were green. The colors were really bright. It's either the outside coat, or under the outside coat. Crossfire can put stickers on the tank before resurfacing and it's permanent, probably what they did with this.

They definitely colored the wrapping under the laminate. Or whatever covers the wrapping.
People don't use covers because it is easier to wipe, lighter, and grip tape on the bottom of the tank sticks to you shoulde rpretty well. So, a colored tank would probably sell really well.

alot of tanks have a label, sticker, or printed fiber underneath the epoxy out coating. If its a solid color i dont think i'd like it. I loved the looks of my they who shall not be named tank though.. Hopefully i have my 68/45 GA tank tomorrow :(

Not a big deal to me i like the CF look on the tanks. That and i use a tank cover. BTW does anyone know why action village isn't selling crossy tanks anymore? Last few times i've looked they haven't had them.

Ok listen here people..These fiber tanks are made With a carbon fiber wrapping encased in an Epoxy Resin. I can assure you that the carbon fiber is NOT colored. The Epoxy Resin Has a dye in it to color it. As for the Anime character tanks, those were made like tattoos, rapid repeated ink impregnation...

Where did you find that out about the coloring? I would think in that case it cannot be a very deep color because the label with the hydro date and DOT and all that other necessary to see information cannot be abscured.
hellomynameis - make sure to post pics after you get this tank. I am very curious now.

u dont need that tank hydroed, it still has another 4 years left :P
and to turtlecocker, your exactly right. Thats how the process is done, and as with other tanks the coloring is faded and very light colored. Which u can actually still see the fibers underneath and throughout it, and label for DOT and other regulations is on top of the wrapping.

You can send your bottle to any hydrotest facility that deals with paintball tanks. Now that Crossfire do their own hydrotesting, rather than sending bottles out, yes, you could return your bottle to Crossfire to be hydrotested.

I just got mine today... (no shipping on Thanksgiving weekend), and it looks just like that one but instead of the black part its the carbon fiber look. I like it... I think you can just imagine it from the last picture but if you really want me to figure out how to get a picture on, I will.

there are pics of the camo on nation, under the news section. i think what he's talking about is just the labeling on the bottle though.
