Recently a friend of mine ordered an SL-68 II. He got it yesterday, and brought it to my house. I have to admit that shooting a pump is much more fun than shooting a semi. I've been thinking about being the team sniper, for fun, but I currently have a Spyder Xtra, with a Boomstick, which is not what I think of as a sniper marker. Anyways I was just wondering if the SL-68 II makes a good a sniper marker, and if it does, which scope should I get for it, if any?

the spyder works fine. why would you want to use a pump? pumps have no more range and are no more accurate then open bolt guns. and are not as upgradeable as the spyder WHHYY? WHAT ARE YOU THINKING? if you are getting it becase yopu like the feel then thats ok but if your getting it because you want increases performance then your stupid cause theres no diference. the ultimate sniper gun is a tippy with flatline. IF SET UP RIGHT will kick the crap out of everyone if put inthe hands of a sniper

First, pumps by definition are much more accurate than open bolts. Second, a cocker is more accurate than a flatline. My SL doesnt shoot as far but is just as accurate as my friend's fine tuned flatline. You don't know what you're talking about. Pumps are fun to have and are great for backup. I've seen plenty of people win with pumps of semi's.

B.t.w at medium velocity for some reason my SL seems to shoot further than my c98.

fine believe what you want to. closed bolts make no diferece and the only thing that effects range is the speed of the ball. except the flatline beceaus it spins backwards which pushed the air down as it spins, which causes the ball to go up.the only thing diferent bewteem guns performance wise, is how the trigger feels and rate of fire. besides get a CCI Phantom they look better then SL 68 II.

Well then. Everyone I play with agrees that pumps are more accurate than semis, except for Autocockers which in a way are pumps, so I think I will get the SL-68 II. I'm doing this for fun, and to hone my sniping and accuracy. I'm not thinking when I get this that I will magically be better than everyone around me, to do that I have to keep playing paintball, and be aggressive with the sport. If you have any other information on SL-68 II just post it here. BTW Which scope should I get? I want one where I can see far.

Eh?

Only newbies and idiots think open bolts are just as good. OMG?!??!

tard... do some research, and nice job with that trigger mod up there, too bad it's been done for some time now. and .5g trigger isnt legal, if you even have one ( RT trigger is legal)

i bought a SL-68 2 for my girlfriend and it is a great pump gun. it is very simple to clean and maintain and has good range and great accuracy. their are more accurate pumps out their but are very expensive and no other gun will ever be as durable as the SL and to me thak makes it one of the best pumps of all time.

the best sniper as far as pumps go would probly be the armson pump. super long rifled barrel makes it so that u can hit flies 80 feet away. although its a lil long its probly the most accurate marker out there.

What exactly makes a pump a good sniper gun? There is almost no pyhsical difference between a pump gun and a semi auto gun. Whats so special about a pump? What small difference does it have over a semi auto gun that makes it so much better? A semi gun is a pump gun that does the pumping for you. :eyes:

a: pumps arent more accurate. they do not have more range. this was true 10 years ago when semis were new and the accuracy and efficinecy was BAD.
b: closed bolt isnt more accurate. when all guns fire, the bolt is closed anyway!
c: rifling does nothing for paintball, as well as really long barrels.
d: check your facts paintballer320
e: anythign is more accurate than a flatline. the only good thing a flatline does is make the ball go far.
f: pumps can be great fun. i personally own a really cool SL-68 (original). put tons of stuff on it, great gun.
e: teams dont normally need snipers, or even have a use for them. not even in scenario games. the whole concept of a sniper is against teams. snipers work alone.
