*sighs* I'm still doing research to pick up an electro. I've looked at Intimidators, Matrixes, Shockers, now it's time for me to look at Angels. Since I know a person who's selling one for a good price I'll be needing help in history and tech.
Firstly, this angel has a little older design than the 2001 LCDs (and does not have the LCD), so can ya guys tell me when Angels first came out?
Secondly, tell me the differences you've found between the newer Angels and the older Angels.

Thanks

The angel without the LCD is called the angel LED. It has a slightly longer bolt, as well as a slightly higher operating pressure. It also kicks a bit harder than an Angel LCD. Unless he's got an aftermarket trigger frame, theat gun is gonna have a single trigger as well. The angel takes it's own batteries, which must be recharged before playing. Unlike other guns, it will not take 9 volts. The ROF is fairly high (up to 18 bps) but due to the lack of any anti chop system, most users set their ROF at 12 max. The angel is probably the easiest of all guns to maintain, requiring a few drops of oil after a day of play.

I just learned a bit about Angels. Firstly there're about 4 versions of the Angel. The forth of course is the most recent 2001 LCD Angel. The Angels we're familiar with first came out about 2 1/2 years ago and have two body types: one looks like a large rounded block placed on top of two round blocks, and the other looks like a squarer large block placed on top of two round blocks. There an even older version of the Angel which came out around 4 to 5 years ago, however I don't know what it looks like. Apparently it runs on much higher pressure and has a serial number lower than 1000.

Angels are overrated and cost more than theyre worth. I say take a look at a bushmaster or timmy, maybe even an impules or matrix.

I know Angels are overpriced. Especially when they're brand new. In my opinion they should be about $100 less. However, you cannot ignore the facts that the new 2001 LCDs are the most advanced and have the most cool little functions (in the chip), and are also the lightest and most compact of the high end electros. Sure it's mostly the prestige factor but hey, if a person likes his gun that little quarter pound lighter than an intimidator or matrix, and if he likes the idea of plugging his marker into his PC then by all means get the Angel. I've considered the rest but if you look around you can find 99 LEDs for a pretty decent price (700ish). Can't help but consider this high end marker along with the Intimidators, Matrixes, and Shockers :)

LCD is more expensive. LED is without the display. I believe only the newer angels have LCD. From what I've heard really the performance of the LED and the LCD is similar, just that the LCD has the extra features. I believe the LCD also runs on slightly lower pressure and is slightly (very slightly) heavier.

Again, remember that I don't own Angels, LCD or LED, this is all from my research from my local paintball stores and from people in forums and chat.

Without a doubt the Angel is the most advanced stock paintball gun
The LCD agel has the Liquid Chrystal Display which shows your ROF, select fire, and other lil fun things
I personally am saving up for the Warped Sportz Dark Angel 2k1.5 LCD which is a really sweet gun (1650 dollars) and includes a lifetime labor warranty from Warped Sports
If the main reason you dont want to get an Angel is because of the rumored need to ship it to england for service, its a lie because you can just ship it to warped which also has one of the greatest angel technicians out there, Rocky
The Dark Angel is basically a Milled and Anodized angel however, so if you dont want that sweet stuff, get a stock 2k1 LCD
also, the rotobreech is a know in the back of the angel that you can pull out and turn to expose the bolt so you can quickly clean up any chopped balls (if you ever get any)
Also, the angel has a lot more aftermarket parts than other electro guns: if interested i really recomend checking out the Shocktech Angel Delrin bolt at wwww.badboyztoyz.com or the intellifeed which runs your VL off your angel battery and automatically turns the paddle on when you reach 2 balls per second or higher

Im going to have to argue that the bushmaster is the most upgradable electro. The reason why the angel doesnt have more is because it has so much stock like you said. Theres not much you can do to an angel that isnt just looks or preference since it is so good stock. but when the electro cocker grip frame might change it all!!!!!!!!!
