All of you who think that the better the marker and better the upgrades on the marker, the better you are, this thread is meant to make you lose that mentallity.
The last game I played, two people had the least expensive markers (me and my cousins friend). Mine is my (duh...Look down) F4 Illustrator, stock, of course. The friends was a Stingray II with the aftermarket BE barrel, and before I say more, I will tell you that the Stingray had admirable accuracy, and a more than decent ROF.

Anyway, now the part you were waiting for...Did we get our A**es kicked? HEELL NO! In total through 4 games (each game was 3 on 3), we scored 10 eliminations. One moment was especially memorable, when I flanked the other team and eliminated 2 out of their 3 players! The other player, I must say begrudgingly, was eliminated by my brother, who had a Shutter (but thats not all there is to it...The shutter broke down by the second game and he had to remove the WHOLE BL config). Flawless performence throughout the day was what described my F4.

Another memorable moment...Stingrays can pull excellent bursts of fire when needed, my cousins friend put well over 7 bps through the air for a good half-minute, and from 30 feet, they had a nice shot grouping of one and a half feet.. And before you say that a Stingray has horrible velocity, before the game I chrono'ed it, and it was shooting at over 325 FPS. Now can you say that all BE markers suck? The Stingray didn't break a single ball either. And to satisfy that little voice, except for the barrel, the Stingray was completely stock.

Now, I want to hear what you have to say about that! And, if you want, you can post your own experiances as well.

ya i made a thread on this a while ago but it faded and died . . . i said that experience is much more valuable than upgrades. so instead of buying upgrades you will get more if you use that money to go play and get some experience . . . but i do get tired of hearing that since you got someone out that had a high end gun with your low end gun that you are now a paintball god, the gun doesnt matter!! it goes both ways. . .

No,no,no,no,no. I didn't say I'm a paintball god, just the opposite...I don't have incredible experiance in PB. This is just for people who think markers are EVERYTHING (like my brother, spents $250 for a shutter, and it has more problems than my F4). I do think that upgrades are worth it, but only necesary ones, barrel, X-chamber (for CO2 users), a new bolt, and MAYBE a new grip frame.

I have a funny story too. There is a field close to me in Candia NH, called Candia Paintball(or something to the like) and I went there with my friend who used a GenX Cocker and I used a WGP Sniper II converted to cocker. Well a kid on the other team had a Stingray and it never really hit anyone, but if it shot more then 5 times in a row it would develop a cloud so thick that it was hard to shoot through. Now is there a point to this, nope, because YOUR STORY DOESN"T HAVE ANY OUTSIDE FACTORS INSIDE. Maybe your team had more people, maybe the other team had people who really didn't know how to work there guns. I mean come on, i'm sick of this debate. A player isn't made by his marker, but his marker limits him. If you disagree then fine, i'll have a Spyder Shutter and you can use a PGP and we'll see who has advangtages. On the same token an Angel will not work wonders unless the player is at a point that the features an angell offers, will be taken advantage of.

No, I said it was 3 on 3, each team had two semi's and one pump, and two experianced and one unexperienced. And by the way...I'd take you up on that offer, except I live in NJ.

Good story but those markers in there are semi's too, just like yours. And 7 bps on a stingray, you have got to be kidding. I would like to see that.

Thats the thing people don't understand...You don't NEED a short trigger pull or a light trigger pull to achieve high rates of fire. They help, but you don't need them. The biggest factor is the strength of your fingers. I play the piano, and therefor have much stronger fingers then most people.

ok, we have all heard this one before. yes the marker doesnt make the player. but a plyer can only improve as far as his marker will let him.

First off all your friend was not actually shooting 325 fps i hope that is very unsafe. Also on a gun like a tippmann or spyder u most likly could not get 7bps with stock trigger. NO matter how stong your piano fingers are you will never get 7bps on a stingray it just is not possible with that guns trigger pull. But i will say with a aftermarket barrel on a stingray it can be quite accurate. But not 7bps.

Actually Slug, I have gotten 7bps when I did not have a trigger job on my Xtra. So tell me again why you could not get 7 bps?

Again I say 7bps on a stingray is very hard to believe.

Dude, this is just too funny.. First of all, have you ever heard a gun shoot a set amount of balls? Do you even know what so-and-so amount of balls sound like? And with that, "at 7 balls per second", you would be chopping like no other. And doing that for 30 seconds. Haha. I am not saying stingray's are bad guns, but, the trigger pull on that thing is like a pound. Dude don't try and brag about your gun on these forums. It's pointless.

With the chrono thing, i hope you turned that velocity down, because shooting "way over 325", is way dangerous.

P.S. what was wrong with the shutter?

Goodness, that was harsh...but it needed to be corrected.
