hey guys, i'm doing a 3 minute persuasive speech on why paintball is a safe sport. i need some facts to reinforce this and i was wondering if you guys could help. there was a link on here like a year ago and i couldn't find it by searching. it said like how many people were injured a year in paintball and it compared it to other sports like golf and baseball.
another site i'd like to see is the paintball growth, because i know it's been one of the fastest growing sports in the past decade or so. thanks for the help.

thanks, that chart helped a lot. i'm still looking for something to do with the growth of the sport. google isn't helping me much today :(
EDIT: nvm, i found the growth part.
if you guys wanna keep posting some facts about paintball and relate it to my speech that'd be great.

So have I. The sport has grown exponentially in the past few years. In the past decade, it has probably increased players tenfold, if not more.

Last months PB2X had a thing about the growth of paintball in it, it gave all the numbers over the last 6 years I think I'll see if I can find it and type it out for you.

haha that chart thing is funny... the two sports I have been playing most resently are the most dangerous and least dangerous according to the chart.. lacrosse-224/1000 people hurt, paintball- 0.3. haha big difference.

alright guys i'm stuck. i need three subtopics and i already have two. i can't think of a third one. remember i'm trying to convince people that paintball is a safe sport.
-Strict Rules where i'll talk about your marker has to be shooting at a certain speed, when you're not playing you need to have something over your barrel in case it shoots, and once someone is hit, you can't hit them again
and
-Protection where i'll talk about how we are required to wear proper head gear, and how you can adjust what you wear according to how you react to being hit to a paintball.
i just need help finding a third subtopic. any criticism would be great.
thanks guys.

the difference between Compressed Air, Nitrogen and CO2 being used as a propellent and safety issues with all three types?

mm, i dunno. there's not much difference between them when it comes to safety reasons, and i don't think most people would get what i'm talking about as most of my classmates dont paintball.

theres a HUGE difference between CA and Nitrogen...
compressed air is combustable if pressurized with oil. (the whole idea behind a diesel engine...)
Nitrogen is an inert gas. which means its non-flamable, or combustable.
with that in mind, putting oil into the asa of a compressed air tank to shore up a leak is BAD!
as for CO2, the storys about the tanks flying off the markers were isolated incidents and said issues have been resolved by laws preventing pro-shops to work on gas canisters without being certified gas techs.
or just skip that and explain how paintballs are made from food stuffs in a brewery like environment.

i could do that where paintballs have to meet expectations in order to be sold. not too soft not too hard..that's gonna take some research but i think i might go with that

talk about how more people play paintball that hockey or skateboard, yet paintball has fewer serious injuries than either.
Im not sure on this, but I dont think anyone has died while playing paintball without breaking some sort of common sense or safety rule. (AKA Shooting someone with a screwdriver, or getting stuck in a pipe)
