anything about the fields... yeah i read the reviews just trying to start a thread for players that want to talk about the fields and the pro shops and other stuff like that. Or anything about stores that carry anything paintball and if there good. Please dont spam, cause its just really immature and dumb.

Splatter Zone LLC is a nice indoor field in CT. Much nicer then Paintball Madness if you ask me. Though PBMadness is a bit more rec I think, it's also $99 a case of paint that costs like $20 usually. At least at Splatter Zone you pay $75 for Empire Inertia and the field is really really nice. Though alot of tourney players go there so it's very fast and competative and they allow PSP ramping.

I have been playing at Strategy Plus in Central CT since 1984.
I was field managing the Toys for Tots XMAS game 12/2 and there were 125 players. Hope that gives you some idea of how many people love to play there.
This place has the 160 acres of woods play and has some of the finest speedball and hyperball fields around.
By a years pass now for $60 and get free CO2 or Compressed Air and unlimited regular play days.
Great scenario games about once every two months.
The also have lots of tournaments.

Strategy Plus is one of the better fields in the state. Not only is it a great woodsball field, but the speedball is coming along as well. Come and play with the factory team and you wont be denied a good time

I enjoy Hogan's as it's around a twenty minute drive for me and my friends. So I hit Hogan's on nice days but I think Splatter Zone will be my indoor winter field from now on.
Though I must say Strategy Plus is very nice, I only played speedball there and didn't go into the woods. Nice field, nice people, but it was an insanely long drive for me; around an hour or more.

I've been meaning to check out strategy plus, but i agree from shelton its one hellofa drive. I hit hogans almost once a week and have been thinking about hitting milford especially since tabris mentioned more tourny players go there and thats what i'm looking for to boost my skill and start looking for a team.
I may be heading to madness this weekend only because i have one of those "free pass if you buy a bag of 500 balls" things.
keep an eye out for me i have the vintage dm3 with dragons engraved on it.

Hogans is my main field, even though it is a half hour away. I have heard good things about Matt's Outback, but haven't tried it out yet. Hogans is good if you have been going there for a while. They treat new people and regulars different I found.. First few times I went there, the refs and store operators wouldn't give me the time of day. Course... I was acting like I was the next lang with my stock A5, prolly didn't help much..lol

No thats definitely true. Thats precisely how my friends and i were treated when we first started going there.... now the true test will be now that i haven't been there for a few weeks..will they remember me? haha.
probably gonna rain this weekend though so i think i'll definitely be goin indoors somewhere.

Well, taking into account there is only one other indoor field in the state that I am aware of, Splatter Zone is much larger, nicer, and cheaper then Paintball Madness.
If any of you guys were at hogans on last sunday (today is jan 24) or the sunday before that, you might have met me, I have a Blue rail with a pulse, was either wearing full black or black pants and a camo top. Lol i look like a noob without a jersy =P

i play mostly at extreme paintball in waterbury. i first started playing there, and still go. they are mostly woodsball, but have recenly been setting up airball fields to my delight. i have been to hogans, and i like it. although, im not a big fan of their pro shrop. i walk in with my ion, and i get all the employees trying to convince me to buy the forbidden board. also, much of the stuff i bought there was faulty. for example, my ions eyes were busted out of the box.

There is EPS in Branford which is great if you want to play on grass fields
Tabris17
02-20-2007, 06:18 PM
Branford does have nice fields though the 'pro-shop' on site has much to be desired. Still, the field itself was one of the best outdoor ones ever. Though when I went there was only one field, though the website shows like three.

Matt's is making progress on their indoor field.
The foundation looks like it's all done and the area is looking pretty level.
Once that baby's up, business should be booming.

We'll see how Matt's turns out. Even then I doubt I'll be making the over hour drive up there again to play indoor when Splatterzone is about 30-45 minutes away for me. It's the closest one and a very nice field in my opinion but the time factor is the biggest thing.

my mom-in-law lives in mystic, so when we visit her we also try to go and play at a local field, just how long does it take to get there from mystic(groton side of river), and do you need to make a reservation to go and rec-play?

I was looking at that Oxford place (Yankee Paintball), and it's pretty much pure woods. They have one speedball field, but it's with hay bales. I've got a tourney at Extreme Paintball in Waterbury coming up soon, me and my friends are gonna go for the heck of it since we finally have a decent team together. I really need to get us into Hogans tournaments. BTW, how is Matt's? I was talking to a guy on Xbox Live today who said he loved it there. Did Tabris go yet?

Is that the Hogan's new NPPL field that I'm hearing about?
Tabris17
06-30-2007, 03:45 PM
Yeah, that's the new 7-man set up they got. They moved the hyperball field and made it smaller and put the old X-Ball field up where hyperball used to be. It's fun but they left too many bunkers up the last two times I went.
I'm going to Hogans tomorrow and hopefully there won't be as many bunkers up. And not many people either with the 4th of July holiday. I hope most people are traveling.
