Have you ever played in a rec game with a couple friends in the woods.. and when you got tagged by someone.. you retreat behind a tree..and you wipe it off lol. I mean its a fun game with your friends or family, there is no ref, so there is temptation to cheat a little.. is it just me?

WTF? It's a game for fun and that gives you incentive to cheat? No...there's temptation in tourny play. There's stuff on the line in tournies. There's time, energy, hard work, and a WHOLE LOT OF MONEY on the line in tourny play. Playing with friends, family, for rec, whatever, is for FUN. If you need to wipe in that sort of environment, you need to reevaluate your ethics, and maybe, just maybe, stop getting shot in the first place. Oh! And as far as that rule you were asking about? Yeah, most of your threads have already been posed at some point and there is a rule about SEARCHING before you make a new thread. It's called spamming.

What? That doesn't make any sense, the people you are playing in tournies have put as much time, money, etc. in as you if not more. Who are you to rob them of what they worked hard for with your cheap play? Cheating in tournies is way dirtier than cheating in rec, and cheating in general is bad. Don't get all high and mighty on this guy with all of that cheating in rec is so much worse. Cheating is cheating, and temptation is everywhere.

You guys are right though, about a zillion threads have come from him. I just chalk it up to being excited about paintball hahahaha.

I totally agree. If you won a tournament by cheating what kind of professional player would you be. If you cheat in rec ball, who cares you are playing for fun, not for a living. I would expect more rationale from a "Super" Moderator. And I am new in this whole paintball scene and Christmas is coming up. What is wrong with getting info on what gear i should buy, how much, which is better etc etc. So me making this many threads IS neccesary, regardless what of any "tip" fools say. I have to know what is the best buy for my money.

When you play tourny, there is always the feeling in the back of your mind that YOU deserve it more than anyone else, YOU worked harder than all these other teams, these other teams are wiping too, you're just trying to level the playing field because YOU deserve the win more than anyone. You have to keep your sponsors happy and win at all costs.
In rec, what motivation is there? Are your sponsors going to drop you if you don't win? Are you going to be out money in plane flights, hotel rooms, entry fees that average $200 and up, and all that? I agree that cheating to win doesn't really make you a winner, but I see and understand the temptation. The argument that everyone else paid money etc could also be easily transferred to "everyone came out to this rec game to have fun, who am I to take that away from them?" Seriously, a rec game's outcome has what kind of consequences if you lose? And a tournament game?
There is no need or reason to cheat in a rec game. Once you progress past your self described "newb" status, you'll understand that. All the cheating in the world in rec games will not make you a better 'baller, and personally, I don't understand where the urge to do it comes from. It's like cheating in a monopoly game. Yay, you won, so what?

I agree with Ebonclaw 100%. Why would you cheat when your playing in the woods with your friends, what can you possibly gain from that? If your self esteem is really low and you constantly need that little edge over your friends then thats just sad. But in a tournament, sure its still very wrong, but moneys on the line and the other teams are probably doing it too.

Now you could play a game where you can be hit as many times as you can take until you call yourself out. It's a good way to use up paint before the end of the day. But if eveyone else is playing fair then your scum.

Making a lot of threads isn't necessary. I'm kind of a newbie when it comes to paintball and I don't make a lot of threads. Part of the fun is doing the research on the gear you're thinking about. Your questions probably have been asked and answered several times already. I know it bothers the heck out of people to see the same questions being asked time and time again.
