I just shot my first 2000 paintballs, RPS Big Balls. None broke in the barrel, except when I shot with my barrel plug in once. :)

Anyway...... Almost all of my shots curved in different directions. I was at a field this weekend and was talking to a really experienced player. He told me about putting the paint in the barrel and blowing it out. If it blows out easily but doesn't roll out, it's the right size. Well.... we took one of the paintballs and put it in the barrel. It blew out fine the first time, but got stuck the second time. It turned out that the things were out of round, most of them.

What supplier has the FRESHEST paintballs? Do any of you have any recommendations? I got that first case from expresspaintball.com, for $40. I suppose the paint at paintball fields is fresh, but not so cheap.

Thanks.....

Every case of paint has their bad balls. Its hard to find "fresh" paint. Cause even if their shipment is new you never know when those balls were made. Anyways I think you just had a few bad balls and not old paint.

Try an Internet store that does a lot of business or a local store. If they sell a lot of paint they should always have fresh paint on hand or you couls order some that is out of stock. When they send it to you then it should be fresh as it just came in.

I read that every case sits like 3 or 4 months on the manufacturers shelves before it even goes to paintball stores.

It depends on which type of shell the paint has. The classic style shell has to dry/cure for a while to shrink down to the correct size. When these balls are formed, they are huge! Seriously! The newer shell that is on the RPS paints and the JT Maxims comes out of the machine dry. These balls are packaged and shipped within days of their manufacture.

are all of the RPS paintball varieties made with that new shell type?
