I read that you've just ordered it. Anyway, if it's not here yet, I would like to offer that you may not need to paint it black. I ordered mine from www.firstcallpaintball.com, and it came black with an o-ring.

So, you may not even need to paint it. However, the "How to camo paint your tippmann" thread may offer some help.

Yeah, I wouldent, If it didn't shine like that....this is a true case of functionality over fashion....my markers motto. I just finished painting it all matte black. It seems to asorb the light around it, I cant make it glint, nomatter how powerful a MagLight I shoot at it...So i need to do the same to my barrel when i get it.

When I get my parrel this friday and (most likily) get it painted, Ill put up a pic. I'm really proud of it. The only thing I didnt paint matte black, was the red dot sight, cause I didn't wanna risk runining the lens. Oh, I was wondering where I can get a matte protecticve coating of spray paint. I got a local ACE hardware, but I havnt had a chance to go over there and look yet.

A suggestion for those that may not want to paint their barrels, yet still get rid of the "glint"...wrap your barrel with camo tape, or burlap, or something...just don't paint it.

ok, you seem to be very set on not painting it. May I ask why? Im really quite interested. Of course you wouldn't paint the inside of the barrel, that would screw it up, but why not the outside?

Mm...mainly because they're finished so nicely as it is. Why would someone WANT to paint over it?

Functionality = burlap or some other type of cover. ;)

Hey, it's up to you man. If you want to paint, paint it. I just wouldn't...
