My impulse is sick. No matter what i do it still shoots hot or doesn't shoot at all. First i put it at 180 psi and adjusted the dwell........man couldnt get that puppy to shoot under 280 for nothing. So i turned down the pressure messed with the dwell everything and it wouldn't go down below 280. Sometimes it wouldn't even fire. The light would blink but no shootin is going on. I guess im gonna have to send it back to SP if you guys can't help me. Well wolvie, KK, johnny, FOM ............ ANYONE PLEASE HELP!
Just when i was about to get my Smart parts drop, PMI Tank, and a blade trigger :pissed:

It's gotta be something simple, so don't cry!
Alright, Lets start at the top, Is the battery fresh? You said you've greased the hammer. You didn't mean the hammer, right? just the stainless rod and the o-rings on the assembly! Correct? Have you got a chrono? Are you using hpa? Stay calm, we will get back in action in no time!

OK Yea i have only grease the rod and orings on the hammer, The battery is decent im pretty sure its fresh. Yes. im using a 45/45 JAVA tank. Could it be a bad battery connection or something ?

How new is the Impulse. Fom posted something about defective Solenoids.
Put in a brand new battery. Turn your dwell all the way clockwise...it will be pointing at about 5:00. Set your pressure to 180 and chrono your Impulse. Is it shooting hot at this setup? Most Impulses won't even cycle with the dwell at that postition. If it shoots hot it sounds like you have a board or solenoid problem. If you are shooting extremely low then trun the dwell counter-clockwise until you are shooting close to 280 fps. Then you can adjust your pressure some if you have to.

My serial # is 7467. Got it around Christmas. Ok so i turn the dewll all the way to the right thent he pressure to 180 and try to fire? OKie doke i can do that . But i dont have a chrono ill have to go to the field and do this. So if it is shooting hot while its set like that i need to send it back ?

i had similar probs with mine, and it was a bad board. the # is 7794. i heard that some imps made around that time had defective boards. anyway, i sent mine to smart parts and had the board replaced. now it works just fine:)

Tell them to order a board for you Impulse. They can switch the boards and send the bad one back. Tell them to tell the tech that you need it right away and don't have time to send it in. I have had to do this a few times. They charge you for the board and then reimburse you when they get the old board in.

I dont think my local shop would do it for free (would smart parts) and will they give me another with out me paying? Man just when we were going to have the new school old school tounry. Old people against new people. Mu ha ha ha. Anyways guess ill have to whoop up on em with a spyder or something. Well im gonna take my gun to my pro shop and have them send it away and take care of this mess.

If you got your gun at Christmas then it should still be under warranty so smart parts will do stuff for free. All you have to pay for is the shipping to and back. Call them up and get their address. I just got my gun back from smart parts and they fixed my solenoid in about a weeks time.

I took the gun back to the store i got it from and they said they would have one of their techs look at it and if they couldn't fix it then they would send it back no charges on me. They were even nice enough to give us a free coke =). And when we go back to pick it up we are gettin me a 68/3000 PMI tnak, 02 smart parts drop, and a blade trigger (maybe) oh and some Deminsion packs if my report card comes out good.

if your talking about the REZ Dimension pack. I would look at the Mantis ph-100 pack first. it is EXACTLY the same, but the BELT COMES WITH IT, and there is a pocket to store stuff in. this is what i bought, the 3+2 model for $50. i was gonna get the Dimension pack too, but the local shop i went to showed me the Mantis, and i bought it on the spot. plus it saved me like $10 -$20 because i didnt have to buy REDZ's $30 weight belt.
