I don't think rainx would do much for you. I'd try some metal polish. Try searching the 'net for a how-to article; there's zillions of them out there.

RainX doesn't polish the barrel, it just makes it so water won't adhere to the inside. I suppose that would make it shoot clear a broken ball, but it won't do anything to keep you from breaking them in the first place.
