Is it just me or do Angels hit hard?

Ok I was at one of my local fields and the onwers son was playing that day and he had a Dark Angel. And that gun was shooting HARD!

Do you think he had the volcity up cause hes the onwers son.
Or do Angels shoot harder even when at the same speed as others?

Ummm...... a .3 oz paintball moving at 300 fps hits with EXACTLY the same force no matter what gun its shot from.

Several things can make it feel different.

The amount of clothes you wore in the areas shot

The temperature

The speed that the kid had his gun set at (prolly the biggest choice)

The thickness of the paintball's shell (ex. Superswirl feel like marbles when they hit cause they have a THICK shell)

At the same velocity, how can one marker shoot harder than another? Thats like saying a motorcycle at 50/km is faster than a car a 50/km. He probaly had the velocity up.

But it seems like every time I get hit by an Angel it hurts more. Maybe cause I get hit will more balls then from other guns.

the velocity may be a little higher or tougher paint or something, no gun will hurt more than another gun shooting the same fps unless the paint doesn't break as easy (thicker shell, or old) or the velocity is higher.

It must of been up high. Cause the paint he was shooting was new. I was going to tell the owner (his dad) to crono him. But I didn't even bother.

i agree with frontman, it's all psycological. you were prolly intimidated by the "big bad angel" and just thought it hurt more. same thing happened to me when a guy with an angel opened up on me. he only hit me once but it seemed to be the most painful shot of my life.

the weight,size,and shell thickness of the paint,the distance you were shot from,and yeah how fast it was shooting

if your refering to brandon shooting les's dark at wap,they dont shoot hot

Anywho, Sked when did it you notice it hurt more, after you been hit and didn't know who hit you, or after you knew that you hit by some1 with a Angel??? it might be pcycologicalpoopoo (i don't know how to spell it)

Nothing againts WAP I love that place.

But me and Brandon were shooting it out all day. Either I got him or he got me. But every time he hit me it hurt more then when others hit me.

was the paint blue?,and seriously it has to be in your head because there pretty strict about that stuff,i know your not slagging him ,if it was the blue or green that stuff is like marbles the shell is so thick

Its probably the paint. A guy got hit in the guppy, which broke from the impact of the ball and he dumped all of his pballs. They were the JT ones. I pick a few on and noticed they were much harder than the others. I stepped on them but they didn't break. Stiffer balls hurt more, I was lucky to never get hit by them. mY TEAMATES were yelling from the pain when they got hit. Thats the only conclusion I can come up with.

ok, i just got this new bag of JT balls from a friend of mine, and i guess they felt a bit hard when i felt them, but anyway, i dropped a few of them on my hardwood floor. they all bouced right back up! so i tried it again with a single ball. it bounced. i threw it up a little..... it bounced. I threw it down gently, it bounced. I wasn't about to try to break it on my bedroom floor, but that's hard paint!!!:eek:

probly hurts more than getting shot with a rental (those are ussually set at like 170 :laugh: )

maybe because the time between balls hitting your bunker is less, you think they're faster

You could also consider that someone with an Angel is running a pretty high end setup.....so his consistency is greater, and he can turn his gun up to say, 298 and still chrono safely. Other guns can't be turned up that high because they vary in consistency more.

I have a cocker. And when its shooting hot it looks like its going slow. Maybe angel shoot differently. I just know that gun was shooting hard.

Its possible that his marker may have been shooting hot. It may not be his falt he may need to get this problem fixed before it screws his angel up or he gets hurt or hurts someone. Or just like he said before it might be psycological? Who knows. If its the owners son the with out a doubt in my mind he may have had the velocity turned up might not had it turned up at the chrono but its east to carry a adjustment tool on to the field. If I was you I wouldent sweat it. :rolleyes:

Your playing football, and theres two options about who is going to hit you

a 50lb nerd running you over at 20mph
or
a 300lb linebacker running you over at 20mph

same thing as...

a brass eagle talon hitting you at 300fps
or
a angel hitting you at 300fps


Seriously looking at that, the second choice always seems to hurt the most.

could be that the paint 2 barrel match was "better" on his marker than most of yours...hence would create the dart affect.
