I think I might post this as a poll, but do you think that WDP will phase out LCDs if the IR3 take off? They phased out led's, but this is kind of different. What do you think? Ill poll yes/no but give reasons or insider info on the thread if you wish.

They already have. They will no longer make LCD only parts. Well thats what the word on the street is. Personally, i think the IR3s are very nice guns, Hell if they didnt have of the new stuff. i just want the smaller gun.

I like the ideas, I'm just not into the milling (for this year atleast) and the funky saber grip, but GOD DOES THAT CURVED BACK OF THE GRIP LOOK NICE!!! Anyone shoot an IR3 or a Iframe imp? You'll know what I'm talking about.

The ir3's dont look too bad. I doubt they'd do that for a couple reasons.
The LCD is still their backbone. Thats like WGP getting rid of the base cocker because of the STO and Black Magic. It'd be catering to an even more specific type of player than they already do.

I've had a chance to mess around with one of the CL IR3 Prototypes, and it just did not feel right. Granted i'm used to a 45 grip, and Chris said they take some getting used to, but I think quite a few ppl, myself included would have some problems with holding it comfortably, let alone shooting.

If WDP is smart, they'll keep a couple different angels around. Its an awsome marker, and they've built their name on the LCD.
I definately dont see them getting rid of the LCD's, maybe refining the LCD's a lil bit, but not totally getting rid of em.

What about the LED??? That is what they built their name on and it was discontinued. The LCD replaced the LED. Don't you think the IR3 if it gets popular will replace the LCD ??

The LED to LCD was an upgrade of the same gun, the LCD and IR3 are completely different guns.
Granted their both based off of the angel but I dont see it happening.

LCD readout
more firing modes
new chip

difference between LCD and IR3:
new grip
new chip
COPS eye
IR port
new milling? (but that comes out year)

thats it.
the LED and LCD have less in common than LCD and IR3

The common difference between the 2 is the software.
As i said in my first reply, has Worr gotten rid of the base cocker since the sto and black magics have taken off?
Hell no, theres still a huge market for the base cockers.
As there will continue to be a market for the lcd's even with the IR3's.

I agree wit infil. The LCDs are here to stay. The IR3 are nice but its not like its gonna just tkae over nagel sales. First off some ppl think they are as ugly as s*** me being one of those ppl. They also have a difference in price some ppl migt be able to afford the lcds but that extra couple hundred dollars might make the buyer look into a different type of gun which would mean less sales for wdp. Also they are making the new chop eye thingy available for LCDs and thats the main reason ppl will want to buy this marker. There are so many other reasons why the LCD wont fade out i dont even want to list them. the IR3 is pretty much a upgraded angel with some special not needed features like text messaging so like infil said why would they get rid of the base of the IR3 which is the LCD it would be stupid for wdp. Rocky a pro player said it was a piece of s*** right to wdps face so i guess will have to wait and see what happens

Course Rocky has a bit of a temper. Ya, I myself think that it would be stupid to see the LCD's go. Maybe upgrade the lcd it'self to have the same display as the IR3 and some other small things. What I think of as the IR3, basicly it's a FLY III. It's smaller, more features ect...

The IR3 will take over the LCD but it will take a while for it to do so. The IR3 is the refined version of the LCD that you guys are talking about. As far as the stock cocker comment goes, the autococker has evolved so much from when it first came out just like the Angel has.

I talked to John Rice at Skyball and he said the LCD will stay as long as there is a demand for it.
